YGWYPF - You get what you pay for....

In the context that this hotel only costs €20 pn it's brilliant, but it's not without it's issues.
On the + side, the rooms are huge - bigger than some studio flats I've lived in! The room has a kitchenette a large living area / bedroom & bathroom. In the living area, there were a total of four tables (dining, coffee & 2 work desks) & two arm chairs, yet the space felt bare. The building was obviously designed to be serviced appartments & the hotel management haven't managed to plan the space of the rooms according to hotel standards.
The kitchenette was pointless, as neither were there any cooking facitities or any cutlery/crockery - just the fridge, sink and lots of empty cupboards!
The bathroom was in need of refurbishment - the shower was an attachment in the bath and clearly seen better days. But, the water pressure was good and the temperature was fine.

Breakfast was limitted for western tastes - the asian spread was excellent but the choice of western food was minimal, unless you like toast with sweet butter and even sweeter jam! There were fried eggs available on the first morning which were only luke-warm, so we jumped from our seats when we saw a fresh supply brought from the kitchen. Big mistake. The "fresh" supply had clearly just been taken out of a fridge and were ice cold...

Pool is fine, if a bit cold but the access is through the restaurant and past the laundry room. The pool is open from six, so if you want an early morning dip, you'll have to be unconcerned with everyone staring at you as they nibble their cold eggs!

Location of the hotel is fine. It's inside the old city - next to Pom Phet fortress ruins and walking distance to some excellent restaurants. If your Thai's good (no English menu) go to Raan Aharn Som Tam (only writen in thai at the restaurant - sorry!). Fantastic selection of excellent dishes cooked for the locals; it's not typical farang fare. The som tam is a must.

Overall a pleasent stay, but 5* it's not. Remember at €20, YGWYPF !

Despite some of the very negative reviews here, I thought that the place was fine. Wireless didn't work but for the money the room was spacious and clean and the breakfast was much like that of any hotel in this category.

Although in need of a bit of renovation, the place has rather a nostalgic atmosphere, unlike a boring franchise hotel, and there is a very nice view of the river from the restaurant.

Big room & that's all.
Old & ugly hotel. Pool was dirty &...empty. Staff does not speak English. They keep smiling though.
Just stay there one night if you are forced to otherwise go find a proper hotel.

Great view of the river. The room is huge and comfortable. Great value for money. Best buffet especially the boat noodle is the best in town. The hotel also has boat ride for dinner which has a stunning view of the river and temples.

I am writing this review from my hotelroom in this hotel. It is really not a bad place. It is situated on the river in a quiet area, close to some restaurants. If you want to go to the centre, there are Tuk Tuk's available to bring you there. The rooms are large, with everything you need. Good TV reception, also from outside Thailand. The bathrom is some outdated, and could need some maintenance. But i like the place and it is not expensive if you compare it with the other large hotels her. There are enough parking places, wifi in the rooms, good working aircons, so if you need more or more luxury you pay more too.

This hotel is located by the river so I had spectacular river views from my room. This means that the hotel is about 1 mile away from the centre of the town where the historic sites and the main shopping area are located. It costs about 30 to 50 baht to get to the centre via tuk tuk. The rooms were very large and well-decorated but the bathroom and the corridors were a bit dated and not well-maintained. The bathroom was functional and usable but the decor had not been maintained and showed signs of wear and tear. However, the hotel had a restaurant which served excellent food. The hotel is also near the train station. I enjoyed being far away from the bustle of the centre of town at the same time as being a tuk tuk ride away from the centre. The staff were really helpful and gave me a map of the town. When my shoes tore and my suitcase broke, the staff helped me to go to the shopping mall and buy replacements.
I could not find another hotel in Ayuthaya to stay in at short notice but I found this place a good place to stay.

The room was big but very old! Useless kitchen with with no water faucet. The "view"? ok there is a view on the river as it is mentioned by the name of this hotel, but really doesn't worth anything! And the price!!! 2000 THB for one night. I felt stollen when i left.
Then, they have men in front of the building who are supposed to secure the area... They were actually scary. One of them split twice in front of my girlfriend while I was trying not to be stollen by the tuc-tuc driver.

Plus, the breakfast was very very bad. Everything was disgusting.
Don't waste your money and go somewhere else. There are a few guest houses that are cheaper and very clean.

We stayed here in Feburary 2011 for the price of $54 a night, it is the worst place i have ever stayed the room was huge and discusting, so old, the bathroom was full of mould, the bed had bed bugs in it so we had to sleep on the couch, we where told the key to the safe was lost so we couldnt use it, we could not wait to get out of this place, also the breakfast was horrible we tried the eggs which were stone cold, so opted for some toast with jam, even the jam was horrible, I would never ever go back or recomend anyone to ever stay there!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We stayed here this July 2008 for a couple of days. The hotel is big and the rooms are enormous! Quite clean and bed very comfy. It is nice to have dinner there while viewing the river. Just opposite the hotel, crossing the river with a boat, there are some wats worth visiting. To go to the center, you can walk but it is a looooong way, it is better to take a tuk tuk.

We were moved to this hotel after Woraburi hotel had claimed all the ac in over 100 rooms had failed ...hotel quite empty so probably cost saving as believe same owner !! After breakfast in this hotel returned after walk at 9 am to find apparent complete power failure. Possibly another cost saving function in this large old hotel and so guests will leave early. Most emergency lights didn't work....very large room...ripped curtains....kitchen tap leaking as was toilet....no tea / coffee / kettle although had a kitchen. Internet on / off and very slow when on. Breakfast buffet not good. ac in room very old and very noisy.
A lot of hotels in area do not book here.
