We just (June 10, 2013) spent one night at the Cavalli Casa Resort. In itself, it’s a fine hotel, modern with large and clean rooms – though the soundproofing doesn’t seem up to par since we had to knock on the neighbors’ wall, then door, when we got tired of hearing every word of the talkshow they were watching in the middle of the night. Breakfast was not very appetizing, this was a Monday morning and we were probably served leftovers from the weekend. And it’s definitely not a resort. The main problem was the location: the map on the website was totally wrong, and the quite aggressive Tuk Tuk drivers around the train station don’t know that hotel. The first one we talked to wanted to take us “there” for 200 Baht. We offered 100 Baht, and he accepted, but he didn’t even know where “there” was. He took us to two different hotels nearby (not a 100-Baht trip), pretended he was calling the hotel when we gave him the number, and finally took us to the Kantary hotel, quite a way out. At that point we just put 20 Baht on the seat, and got off. The second driver took us back near the train station, and asked colleagues of his where the hotel was, then said he didn’t know how to get there, but still wanted the agreed upon 50 Baht that we adamantly refused to give. Some of his colleagues seemed to know and they offered to take us there for 150 Baht, saying it was “very far”. As a matter of fact, the hotel – with an Italian name that no local driver knows – is about 4 kilometers straight north of the train station. In all, we lost about 2 hours and 20 + 100 Baht.

This hotel was a pleasant place to stay in, it was neat, clean and the staff were pleasant and helpful, although the english language was very limited from the reception staff, they were still eager to please. A little way out of the hub of the town but convinient to stay and easy to find. Most enjoyable stay

You can't expect to have a good, not even a sufficiently fair stance if you just can't communicate your needs to the staff due to their completely lack of English knowledge. They can basically welcome you and tell you where the restaurant is. On the morning of our arrival (via tuktuk after minivan from BKK), it was a challenge to get the historical center of Ayutthaya, as the hotel is located in the middle of a countryside at the city outskirts, 15 min. away by scooter (a scooter that you have to find yourself somehow). All our efforts to communicate with the staff in order to get our way to the city were meaningless. After a long and painful discussion with the local receptionists, the manager (this one did speak some English) told us to catch a bus that was stopping by the hotel cross with the main road: surprise! There was no bus at all, only the two of us dying under a nuclear sun, wondering what to do. Hopefully a merciful couple picked us up in a van and got us to the train station, in front of which there can be found various places to rent a scooter (the smartest way for sightseeing).
The rooms are nevertheless clean, wide and well maintained, and Wi-Fi connection was fine everywhere. Breakfast offered a mediocre selection of poorly cooked Thai dishes, some fruit, garbage wite bread and juices you could clean the windows with.
All in all it was not really bad considering the price, but not worth to get the rating it has by many past visitors.

If based on the website photos this hotel looked nice and modern, it was actually a very disappointing experience. We found out that our rooms were initially in the old block which feels like a old school dorm, we managed to move to new block for an extra 300 bahts. Even with this upgrade, the more modern rooms were sad and not very clean even if spacious. The pool is really nice and it is fun to watch (and hear) the trains pass next to hotel property. Less fun at night though! Food was not good but staff were friendly and wanting to please. Finally, it is very far from everything so would not recommend this hotel.

Stayed here for 2 nights. First look and impression for me, the hotel is quite new with beautiful landscape but a bit far from the city and no restaurants or convenient stores nearby. The first room I checked into was Room# 315. The drainage in the shower cubicle didn't work properly and the water did not drain even after an hour after use. There were ants, insects and flies in the room, The night receptionist said he would change the room for us and asked the mechanic to deal with the problem in the morning. My room was changed to 314 next door. The air conditioner was noisy and the shower drainage, though a bit better, still has the same problem. The beds are not comfortable and when we asked for extra pillow, the night receptionist first refused. He only agreed to extra pillow when we pushed hard. I think the staff has been trained but afraid of losing their jobs if they did what the customers asked unless the manager has approved. So, all the problems and issues depend on a single manager's green light. With the manager's uncompromising attitude, the property is waiting to go down the drainage. The complaints have not been tackled as the staff thinks that the guests only stay for 1-2 nights. They don't care about repeated customers.

In conclusion, this property can do much better with a right attitude. The property has potential with some improvement and service mind.

I heard this place is new but I can't see that at all. If anything I suspect it was rebranded/renovated from another hotel or dorm to what it is now but things are getting run down FAST!! Our first room had working A/C on arrival bit after we stepped out it wouldn't turn on and we gad to change rooms (A/C controller was old knob and not individual room units). In addition, the bathroom floor flooded everytime we used the shower due to bad design, drainage & plain bad workmanship (drain gradient was away from bathtub drain and any water on level surface of bathtub rim would just flow to floor and not toward drain!?!!). Plus, the shower curtain/rod was just haphazardly on and the slightest tug brought it down. Plus, plus we booked for 2 adults and a child from the start but they said they were going to charge 50 baht for an extra towel then when we wrote maids a note to leave an extra towel (on bed in plain view, in Thai also) we would still not get it, have to call down and ask for it and get dirty looks from the guy who brought it. Plus, plus, plus when we talkedto front desk about our issues or how things are getting billed, get adjoining rooms (as said earlier we had to move rooms because A/C - which were rooms far apart then we got moved to adjoining rooms after front desk said rooms weren't availabe?!! WTF?!) getting receipt emailed etc. they all acted apathetic or plain didn't know how to do anything. Anyway back to state of the facility - there was a constant leak frkm the ceuling in the lobby of the building we were in (there are multiple buildings so maybe those are better) our whole stay which I am pretty sure has been occurring for a long while since the ceiling was saturated and hopefully doesn't crash down and hurt anyone.

Ok, sorry for the rant but as you may have surmised, I didn't enjoy the stay and decided to leave one day early although we had to pay for the entire stay although there were other non hotel factors involved. To end on a somewhat positive note, o have to acknowledge that rooms were clean despite the flooding issue, the location is pretty isolated (although not far from Ayutthaya attractions as previously stated by other reviews- you just have to take back roads for 10 or so minute ride and you need your own transport as most locals/taxis wont really know where this is). Be aware there are train tracks nearby which can be a bit loud but wasn't a huge noise factor. The breakfast is so so and not much selection but ok for semi rural area and filling. In summary, this resort is good for a short one night stay or for the conventions they seem to have often but other than that i cannot call this a 3 star resort (no pool, gym or other facilities most other "resorts" will have) as it claims.

Air con broken & rather than moving us into a new room waited for 2 hrs to see if it could be fixed, it couldn't & were finally moved. Woke up at midnight, 100's of ants in the bed, moved rooms again.

The first thing to note is that hotel's location is utterly remote. Why anyone without their own car or business in the area would want to spend the night here is something even nuclear scientists are likely to have trouble figuring out.

The Superior Room we were allotted was generously spacious and boasted a balcony overlooking the parking lot and fields beyond. The decor was more of an afterthought, with the room looking like a blinged up college dorm.

Housekeeping at the Cavalli Casa was irreproachable, as even the closet drawers were dustless - a major coup for a provincial hotel of this calibre.

The bathroom was ensuite, large, and poorly designed. The lack of any partition of the shower area beyond a flimsy shower curtain was a persistent cause of annoyance.

The surrounding environs can only be described as rustic and can be trusted to ensure a full night's undisturbed sleep. Breakfast was uninspiring but edible. For hunger pangs after 10am, the hotel reception is well stocked with soft drinks and snacks, while across the street there is a small shack pretending to be a grocer's.
