Ruen Tubtim was once a traditional floating lodge in Pasak River, Koh Loy island, Ayutthaya, visited once by king Rama the 7th when he was a crown prince. It was a home of Meechouthon family. Now it is situated on land by the river with its beautiful garden. It's a perfectly quiet and private place to stay in Ayutthaya where you can reach the center of the city by boat in just 5 minutes.

We have recently stayed at this hotel for 3 nights and had a lovely stay. Ayutthaya is very busy and it was heaven to arrive at this gorgeous and charming Hotel which was a peaceful oasis away from the hustle and bustle.
We loved the fact that is was on an island and felt that added to the experience. You ring the staff and they pick you up by boat (promptly) when you got to the landing site ( they give you a phone with which to ring them). So you have lots of little boat rides! You can also ask with the hotel to arrange private boat rides for you if you wish, which we did on arrival while waiting to check in which was great.
The bedrooms were charming and comfortable with a separate private bathroom nearby. The breakfasts were good and we had some great evening meals at the hotel as well. The garden area is quiet and lovely overlooking the waterways. You can hear chanting from the nearby Buddhist temples. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly, which really helped to make our stay so enjoyable as we felt well looked after. It was much appreciated. Highly recommend this Hotel.

Our party consisted of 14 adults and 6 children. We were lucky to have the whole resort to ourselves! It's a perfect place to get away from the hustle and bustle of Bangkok - less than 1.5 hours drive north.
Ruen Tubtim used to be a floating house and built entirely by teak wood more than 140 years ago! It became famous after King Rama 7 visited the place. They still have the furniture pieces donated by the King in the muzuem beautifully maintained.
The only way to get to the Resort is by boat as there is no bridge to this tiny island in the river! The owner sons were there to personally receive us at the jetty and carried our bags onto the boat - great Thai hospitality!
We loved the place so much and decided to order dinner which turn out to be another highlight of our stay - the food was fit for Royalties!! Very lovingly cooked by the owner!
I highly recomend this hidden gem to anyone who like to have the peace and quiet and be close to nature!

Beautiful traditional Thai resort situated amongst a tranquil garden setting with river views.
We had to park our car at the opposite temple and cross the river by boat because this resort is located on a small island (250 families live here) and it is a beautiful experience.
The room is very comfortable and the people in the island especially the host 'Jing' and his family are very friendly and helpful.
I thoroughly recommend staying here if you love traditional Thai, river view tranquil atmosphere and homemade Thai food provides by the resort.

Staff and management are amazing. Very polite and accommodating. The property is beautiful and gives you a feeling of being part of the history there. If you are going to Ayutthaya to see the ancient city, then a stay here is imperative to that experience.

Charming natural wood rooms on a island adjoining historic Ayutthaya. A bit more rustic than it appears in the website pictures. Thin walls mean not much sound control or privacy. Rooms are either cozy or small, depending on your viewpoint. Small frig & hot water kettle. Nearby spacious toilet & shower rooms. Comfortable beds, occasional mosquitoes, not full mosquito nettage, but wasn’t a problem. Excellent breakfast included (see picture). Gracious and helpful staff. On-request free boat shuttle to town 5 minutes. Lovely common area on the riverside. An atmospheric alternative to 5* hotels, if you expect and embrace the rusticity.

Ok nothing special - quite a nice aesthetically place, quite basic. Bit of a hassle to get the boat each time especially if you don’t have a Thai phone ( which should be expected from tourists ) woken up at 4 am by chants from the nearby monetary. Staff speak no English and service isn’t great. Breakfast is abysmal, basically egg ( wasn’t great) with two slices of toast and coffee. The mango served at breakfast was good but I still went hungry !

Hotel is very quaint. Bathroom facilities located outdoor however it does not disturb. Great breakfast with amaising river views. However you can reach hotel only by boat which is supplied by the hotel as well as the cell phone which you should use for calling once you need a boat. Any case try to check if cell phone is fully charged and available for making calls as sometimes you can appear to have no contact and boats to reach hotel from ashore...

The resort is on an island inaccessible by road. Parked our car at the nearest temple and the staffs came to pick us up by boat. No hassle at all plus, you get the real Thai life experience. The wooden houses are gorgeous and ancient. The wooden floors and walls required us to be quite and respectful to the place, which is really pleasant. We had great conversations with the staffs and was told that the main house, which is the lobby, is more than 150 years old and King Rama 7 came by and rested here. Our room had 3 beds and was very comfortable. Although, the bathroom is in another building beside it. Meals are available but you have to make a reservation. The chef is a national well-known chef and the ingredients have to be purchased fresh from the market for the best quality meal. The whole experience is unique for me, even though I was born and raised in Bangkok. Would recommend to anyone looking for an authentic Thai experience with a touch of our culture.

This place is not a typical hotel you can find in big cities, it is very traditional and as such, All staff members are very local.
I truste people come to Thailand to find the beauty of it plus enjoy the positive atmosphere Thai people has to provide.
I have booked this hotel with a friend. We both booked separated rooms.
As Ayutthaya is a bit far from Bangkok and the way to it gets very country side, we were a bit worried if we were on the right way and so on.
I called the hotel to ask for directions, as much as their English skill isn't that proficient, they did their best to make sure we were arriving to the right place.
Ive given the information Id be arriving at Ayutthaya train station, and they came to pick us up.

The person who came to pick us up was a very friendly young men, who helped us with our luggage and so on.
Smile is a thing in Thai, and we saw smily faces all the way to get to the hotel.

Once we get to the accommodations, we are introduced to the room and toilet, which is one toilet per room.
However, as a traditional Thai house, toilet is outside the room, which is totally fine as you have your own.

Rooms are very cute and I loved the decoration, however if you have someone staying next door, you may hear what they are doing, so we also have to be silent while we are in the room.

I personally loved everything but especially the people, the staff. Its not only about the place, but the people make it perfect, and I must say I DO RECOMMEND THIS HOTEL!!
