Well a very basic hotel with clean rooms & small but clean bathroom..

They don't have any in house restaurant (they do have provision for warm water/tea/coffee in their lobby) but 7-11 store and other local restaurants/cafes are just next door....

also the minivan station to/from Bangkok is at walking distance from here..

But the best part is.. majority of historical sites is at walking distance from the hotel.. so it's convenient for people who stay back in Ayutthaya to catch the lit up monuments in the evening..

We enjoyed our stay here. But, somethings I found unusual. For example, it was the only hotel I have stayed at that does not use white bed linen or towels. The bedsheets and pillow cases were dark brown. The duvet and towels were dark blue. I thought it was standard practice in the hotel industry to use white because it shows cleanliness. It's hard to spot dirty bed linen when it is dark in colour. When I lay down on the bed I had to get back up and check beneath the bedsheet to make sure there was a mattress underneath. It was rock hard. That being said I did sleep soundly, even though I woke with an aching back.
The hotel is ideally located for many temples, coffee shops, and food stalls. There is an excellent boat museum on the next road parallel to the hotel. There is a kettle in the room but no tea or coffee.. You can make yourself a drink at reception. If you are heading to Bangkok you can get a minibus just along the street from the hotel.

We were on the 2nd floor and our room was quite disappointing. The beds were hard so very uncomfortable, there was a sewage smell coming out of the toilet that we had to keep the door closed and the wifi kept cutting in and out. We did complain about the wifi and the staff did act promptly to rectify the issue. I gave this hotel a 3* rather than a 1* or 2* is due to the location - it is a 5mins walk from the national park, close to restaurants and bicycle rentals - and the staff were great. While it was hard to converse with the female staff members, the men seem to have a higher comprehension of English. They were all very friendly people and super helpful when we were trying to catch the shuttle bus from this hotel to Don Mueang Airport. The bus shuttle is about a 5mins walk - across the street from the 7/11. For those who are thinking of taking the shuttle, just a FYI that this particular shuttle cost 60baht/person and if you have luggage they will charge a seat for it so it is a cheap transit alternative over a private car.

Dear Thailand Traveler,

While in Thailand, you may decide to make a stopover in Ayutthaya Province, which is one of the historic capital cities of Thailand. If you do, you may think about a stay at The Avail hotel. First, let me tell you that The Avail will not satisfy the needs of those seeking 5 star accommodations. Having said that, if you are seeking a clean, safe, comfortable, and affordable place to enjoy an evening or two while in Ayutthaya - you will be very satisfied checking into The Avail.

What I found so satisfying about The Avail is that everything works, and works well. The bathroom is comfortable and the shower is hot, the bed is amazingly comfortable and the comforter is soft and warm, the air conditioner blows cold, and the room is clean. Everything that needs to work...does, and this is something that I cannot always say about even the most expensive places. Moreover, the staff is friendly, the price is right (900 THB/night), and the location is near historic ruins, elephant rides, and some very good restaurants.

You cannot write a review and say only good things, so here is the best I can do to say something somewhat critical. There is no coffee or coffee cups in the room, but there is a hot water pot. On the bright side, if you want coffee, there is a complimentary coffee cart in the lobby with both. I am sure if you asked to take coffee to your room, they would be most happy to oblige. One more comment, I did not see a strong box in the room to store valuables.

All and all - a very good find.

Best/Kevin

I tried Avail for the first time in Phoenix this weekend. I chose them over Turo because of the insurance they provide but will never rent from them again! I did not have a choice of car and was given an older Nissan Maxima with 82,000 miles. The only way to unlock the car was by pushing the key fob within 6 in. of the driver's door; even then, it sometimes took several tries. I told the guy I returned it to, thinking it may need a new battery or something, and he just said "Yeah, I know", clearly not caring and with no intention of fixing it. The car was a little dinged up including torn faux leather on the console which continually scratched my arm. They obviously have no requirements for how old their cars are or whether or not they're maintained. Also, when I picked the car up, it said 184 miles left in the tank. I returned it with 212 miles left and was charged $10 for gas. If you do rent from them, make sure you take pics of the gas gauge and any damage to the vehicle. I would recommend Turo instead; so you know exactly what you're getting ahead of time.

I was really surprised at the service at this hotel as it is more expensive than many hotels around. The room was OK but had many weird things. First, the shower unit was placed about 8 feet high and my girlfriend couldn't reach the controls. The tap in the bathroom dripped continuously and I had to put a cloth in there to stop the sound. The room had only two coat hangers and despite having a kettle, had no cups or glasses?!?!?!? It was clean enough and the air-con worked but I think you get a comparable room for half the price. The main reason I booked this place over others was that there was a promise of a late 6pm checkout. When we tried to confirm this we were rudely told 'no'. I showed the promise and the lady said we could stay until 4pm maximum which was not ideal. Just to hurry us up, the hotel actually turned off the power in our room at 3.30pm! Will definitely not be coming back to this overpriced, strange, rude hotel.

Fridge was clean, bathroom was cleaner than i have ever seen. Bed, i slept like a log, i don't think i rolled over once! Nice place. Really nice

Friendly staff. Great location. Decent breakfast. Nice bed and strong air-conditioner. I like this place. I would stay here again if I was visiting. I stayed three nights and would have extended. If you're in the area this is a very good option

Koo and her family/staff did a great job of taking care of us for our seven night stay.

Every day we were served up a complimentary 3-course breakfast of our choosing (omelettes, sandwiches, fruit salad and granola, etc) then we went off to explore the ruins. Koo also let us use bikes for free (they were a bit too small for our American frames) and helped us with all our turn needs; from drawing hand-written maps and Thai instructions to give our taxi drivers to a romantic sunset boat ride around the city/island-she was a great resource for all our 'forang needs'. Also the AC in our room was so powerful that we actually got cold enough to use the blankets.

Ayutthaya is a little off the typical tourist path and as such language was a barrier, but Koo and her family did a great job of making it work with sign/body language, pictures and Google translate. Would go back.
