Wonderful place for a really relaxed, happy vacation. From the moment you enter the gates of Cinnabar till Bala and Vasu bid you goodbye, you are sure you are not merely their guests but friends. There is a personal touch and warmth and lovely conversations on every occasion. The food is very thoughtfully and imaginatively customised for your needs, and it...

This is by far the best home-stay I have stayed in terms of hospitality, quality of accommodation and food. It is situated centrally in Kodaikanal town in a quiet but prime locality. Popular attractions and good restaurants are all close by. The accommodation offered consists of two individual rooms with attached bathrooms and a separate porch. Both these rooms are...

Kodaikanal in itself is an extremely beautiful little place and we happened to be lucky enough to find out about this gem of a homestay - Cinnabar. Honestly the holiday would've been perfect even if we just stayed at Cinnabar all day, talking to Bala and Vasu and eating the delicious food they made. They absolutely love what they do...

My husband and I just returned after our four days stay at Cinnabar. We took a holiday after several years and were keen on staying in a quiet, neat place and chose to stay at Cinnabar after reading the reviews in Trip Advisor. We both had a wonderful stay... couldn't have been better! Bala and Vasu were excellent hosts. The...

Cinnabar was very highly recommended by a friend of mine and so I went in with very, very high expectations. My weekend there exceeded all expectations I could possibly set. Ever. Bala and Vasu were an absolutely charming and engaging couple. Positively delight to stay and converse with. The rooms were fastidiously neat. The 24-hour-hot-shower and the general atmosphere of...

Having been recommended Cinnabar by a third party as a great place to trek, we were initially put off by the distance. However, after an 8 hour drive with the temperature lowering as we drove up through beautiful scenery, we didn't look back. Bala and Vasu are wonderful hosts - really entertaining, arranging delicious Indian food (when Vasu excels in...

The room was neat and clean and perfect. We had no mood to leave the room to visit the town such was the ambiance. They were...

Bala and Vasu opened their hearts and home to us at Cinnabar. It is a stay filled with love, beautiful cottage and amazing food and green lawn with fruit trees and organic vegetables. They plucked the vegetables from the garden and cooked for us. Bala makes cheese at home and his cheese cake was divine. Vasu made the most amazing...

This was one of the best holiday experience, all thanks to our hosts Vasu and Bala. They're such a warm and friendly couple and excellent hosts. Our stay at cinnabar was extremely good. The house and the rooms have been very aesthetically done. The architecture being in stone and wood gives that country house feel with subtle Indian elements. They've...
