What a fantastic heritage property located in the heart of Amritsar. As soon as you arrive at Ranjit's Svaasa , this place will fascinate you with family history and its simplicity. The best part of this hotel is the food quality and variety. Next comes the attitude of hotel staff and their promptness in service. Ranjit"s Svaasa organizes a tour... More

Heaven is always created by efforts put in. One such place is Ranjit's SVAASA which is one such HEAVEN on EARTH. Restored with great memories. This place gives you peace in various forms. Spa and all other facilities are actually different and PURE. Food is organic which is good for health. On a business trip, having a peaceful stay was... More

Made a last minute plan to visit Amritsar and luckily landed up reading about Ranjit's Svaasa on tripadvisor. I try to avoid pigeon-hole hotels and look for small boutique hotels wherever possible. Ranjit's Svaasa ticks all the right boxes. Beautiful old noble home/haveli, deep character exuded by the ancestral home decor and the hallway of family photographs (which seem to... More

This is a wonderful old house with lots of character and charm. Let down by the cleanliness which can be a problem with older properties but is no real excuse. Lovely big room (one above the restaurant) with separate lounge. Bathroom a disappointment, old style hot water geyser, in a spa hotel I expect something a bit more luxurious. Complimentary... More

We loved this hotel situated in an old house with bags of character. There is a central courtyard and lots of nooks and crannies to explore and sit. It felt so peaceful and relaxing. Bedrooms were clean and all seemed differently styled, some with an eclectic mix of furnishings that just 'worked' somehow. The staff were very pleasant and it... More

do not expect 5-star facilities but for charm and character, this speaks there was much that was tatty but the ambience is lovely and the converted house with photos and paraphenalia to emphasise the family property exudes old world comfort with excellent well-dressed staff the rooms are spacious, the facilities delightfully variable, the lighting bizarre but wi-fi free breakfast adequate... Interesting accomodation, hidden down what looked like an alleyway, this being a heritage property we expected something "different" & thats what we had, we had a room on the very top floor - The Terrace Room, A/c lheating packed up almost straight away, as it was damn cold they supplied a fan heater which we ran all night despite the... If you are in love with the faded Raj look and like small quirky hotels fine, but in winter it is cold and when the hot water system breaks down it is no fun. Food range limited, the early morning call (to catch a train) was missed and it is grubby round the edges.

For me this is the type of property one stays at when traveling in India; A home converted to take guests, with family photos, attentive staff and a friendly lab too! There are no standard rooms -some have a sitting room while others have a jasmine covered terrace. The hot water can take a while to come as it is... More
