The huge plus is the place: sprawling, well-maintained and comfortable. The two big minus are the location (it is far from the city sites) and the cost (food is costly). The staff is courteous and caters well to the guests... We stayed with a dozen teenagers and they loved the open-air dining tables, the lawns-and-the-swings and the oh-so-refreshing swimming pool!!...

This place reminded me of my grandmas place..an old vintage punjabi house. Big, natural with lots of greens. Food, like paratha and achar, is exactly what I used to have 25 years back. Few interesting things like pool, dogs are worth a mention.

Lovely hotel with gorgeous gardens, quiet and very friendly, helpful staff. However for what you pay, it probably wasn't worth it. On top of the hefty charges, you have to pay for wifi, there is a heavy tax on top of the agreed prices, food is expensive and because you are in the suburbs, you end up paying a lot...

This is the second time I have stayed at Mrs Bhandaris Guesthouse and both times they have been excellent. It's an excellent place to stop and recoup in a busy India. Always found the staff attentive, helpful. Yes the food prices are not the cheapest but it will cost more to travel into town to eat. Wifi works fine and...

I visited Mrs Bhandari's for two nights while touring the north on a motorcycle. Let's get the negative out of the way first: I very nearly didn't make it. I called for directions, and the manager absolutely refused to give me any. He insisted that I hand the phone, with battery low, to a succession of confused shopkeepers, even though...

Stayed here for three nights, the place is beautiful in the suburbs of Amritsar. Handy to get into golden temple (10 min auto) and wagah border (1000 rupees). Peaceful place to crash out to avoid the huddle and bustle enjoying the pool. Don't bother getting the wifi as it wouldn't connect also the food is expensive for India. Yet overall...

This was booked as part of our tour, so did not have any choice in where we stayed. we were there in March so it was a bit chilly at night. the food is very good and the grounds are small but perfectly formed. The main house its self is like something lifted from the 1930's and wonderfully decorated in...

We really struggled to find somewhere we liked the look of to stay in Amritsar: the top end hotels had mixed reviews and looked bland and corporate and the hotels near the Golden Temple all looked noisy and a bit grim. This looked a little out of the ordinary so we gave it a shot. It was OK: nice fairly...

This is a step back in time in all the good ways. We arrived at 3am and couldn't have received a more welcoming reception. The staff were attentive to all our requests, as was Mrs Bhandari herself. As another reviewer points out, the grounds and background are historic and its worthwhile to take the time to read up on it....
