The best bit about staying at Mundackal Plantation are your hosts. Jose and Daisy not only invite you into their home but give you an insight into their lives on a Keralan plantation. The food served is proper home cooking from a lady who cooks in her family tradition with recipes going back generations. There was lots of opportunities to...

This was the first stop on the itinerary that our agent had prepared for us and, as we made our way up the unmade road through the rubber plantation, we wondered just what we had let ourselves in for. We need not have worried. The welcome offered by José and Daisy was wonderful and we thoroughly enjoyed the two nights...

We were very disappointed with our stay here. The rooms were very tired and musty. We had a birds nest room, which promised a balcony. But the balcony was not accessible and you could barely see out the windows, which were covered with dirty net curtains. The bathroom was dreary. Food was edible, but very average. We were quite surprised...

After a long journey from the UK via Dubai, Mundackal was the first place we laid our heads, arranged as our first stop as part of a 11 night tour of Kerela. We were met by our hosts Jose and his wife Daisy. The home stay ( a double room with en suite) in their home was a perfect introduction...

This was our second port of call during our tour of Kerala. We were met by the sight of an attractive country house at the end of a very bumpy, dusty road through rubber plantations. Its gardens were immaculate with a pretty stream crossed by a picturesque footbridge; tiny frogs jumped as we approached. We were greeted by Jose and...

After a fascinating drive from Fort Kochin we were met on the doorstep of this beautiful bungalow by Daisy and Jose. Given a delightful fresh fruit cooling drink and given a most informative introduction to life on a rubber plantation by Jose, a member of a large family of plantation owners in Kerala. Daisy ascertained our dietary requirements after which...

The title I have chosen for my review says it all really .This establishment was suggested to us by our agent in Kerala to break the journey from Cochin to our next place of call . How pleased we are, that we took that advice and stopped off at Mundackal Plantation . We were greeted with a sincere warm welcome...

Enjoyed a wonderful 2 night stay at this fantastic home stay. Food is just amazing. Charming hosts, really nice room and beautiful, peaceful setting. Handy for the excellent bird reserve. Didn't want to leave.

The 'Munnar' address seems to be used to describe almost half the highlands of Kerala. This home stay is nowhere near Munnar but is located around half way between Kochi and the town of Munnar itself, a couple of hours drive from Fort Kochi. The bedroom was rather basic but clean and air conditioned. This was more than made up...

We spent 2 days and nights at Mundackal with Jose and Daisy and had a fantastic time. It is such a peaceful place you can't help but relax. We enjoyed walking around the plantation and found Jose's tour really interesting explaining how rubber is created. Daisy is a fabulous cook. There was always a great variety of dishes at every...
