Extremely polite and hospitable staff; the nicest room of our 2 week stay in India (out of 6 hotels) including by far the comfiest bed; delicious vegetarian food (some of the best of our trip); perfect location for exploring Munnar. It gets better: the stunning mountainside setting and beautiful window views; the charming and friendly guide on our spice tour...

We loved our stay at Kaivalyam so much, we didn't want to leave! We found it to be really relaxed, welcoming, friendly and unpretentious - and in a beautiful forest/garden setting! The restaurant serves delicious, affordable fresh vegetarian food using local produce from the nearby markets. The menu was adapted daily (based on seasonal availability) which meant we enjoyed an...

Loved this accommodation. The location was perfect, set in the hills just outside the busy Munnar town. Its is quite and peaceful. Staff and food were excellent and the rooms were large, clean, modern and well equipped with an individual balcony. The retreat offer all sorts of activities such as bird watching, yoga, mountain hiking, tea tasting and planation walks....

I cannot say enough about this hotel. We stayed in December 2014 and I still think about this hotel. The owner was so friendly and the grounds were beautiful. Food was great. I enjoyed each minute and only wish it was longer.

The yoga area is very pretty and unique and the complementary yoga class was excellent. Food was delicious. It is set in an...

I could here silence yesterday night. It was complete silence. No fans moving. No humming of mosquitos near ear. Still silence had so many notes. The silence was filled with a strange background sound. And had few interruptions, may be a voice from my mind which was subdued from surrounding sound for so many days. Yesterday evening took a spice...

A veritable haven. I loved every minute of staying here. Fantastic gorgeous room, nice and cool. Exceptional view over the tea plantations of Munnar... Excellent service and extras thrown in like a tour/bird watching of the on-site spice plantation which I loved. Yoga in the mornings if you want, peaceful and comfortable. I will be back! As a woman travelling...

This is a real find. The rooms are lovely, with beautiful views. There is so much to do right on the property - tours through the gardens, hikes, cooking classes and tea classes as well as daily yoga. The food was FANTASTIC. Everything fresh and delicious. It is a little difficult to find, and the road down to the retreat...
