I'd say this is an ideal budget option for older travellers, also good for younger backpackers, but the over 30s don't feel out of place. Fully equipped kitchen, rooms may be a better option than the dorm, which is rather dark and not so spacious. But the important bits are all positive, a big roof-top terrace with lounging options, wifi,...

I had a great time at la Buenaonda. Mostly because of all the cool people I met. The hostel have a great kitchen and commonarea. Great "balcony" to hang out. Close to the gasstation where you can find cheap food and other things you may need. About 10 min walk to the main strip in West end. The price is...

Roatan doesn't have a huge range of budget accommodations, as far as I could tell. This hostel was a last minute option for me since I arrived a couple of days before my friend, when we had a hotel reserved. I wasn't very impressed. The beds were not very comfortable and one of the fans in the room didn't work,...

What a great place to relax after spending the day diving and snorkeling. The people here are super friendly, and only a short walk to the beach and restaurants. There is also a chocolate factory across the street, and Petro station less than a block away.

I found this hostel after spending a night at a different one near by... And so glad I found Sophie and Buena Onda! I was only going to stay 2-3 nights and stayed 11. Friendly, only 5 min walk to west end, safe, clean. Hammocks up stairs, hot water shower, wifi, tv room and good hang out vibe. Thanks for...

Sophie the owner is from Spain and came to Roatan to scuba dive and never left. Great energy here. I'm an American that's been to 40 countries and all 7 continents, stay in hostels everywhere and this one is top notch. Wifi is ok, non existent in your rooms. Bunk beds are what you expect for $9 USD a night....

Stayed in the 6 bed mixed dorm. No AC, but it did have a fan in the room that kept it cool enough to sleep. I’d recommend keeping the door shut. I woke up one morning to find a fiddler crab in my bed. Seriously. The kitchen was spacious with a fridge available. WiFi speed was not so good. The...

We stayed 4 nights in the biggest private room which was maybe a bit expensive. But considering general prices on the island, I guess 40$ was okay. The room is big, the bed is comfortable, the shower is hot and powerfull and bathroom is perfectly clean. Anyway the hostel is great. It is really easy to go to the beach....

It was a 10 min walk from the main area which is nice to get away from all the craziness. It's not the best looking place but the privacy was great. I stayed in the private room and it was simple but good. You have the main gas station right next door with working ATM which is convenient. I normally...
