Mark is an unstable and attacking host. We never even met him. And he wrote several mean and personally attacking emails after our stay full of lies and accusations. This all could have been avoided. Mark was not upfront about all of the charges. Don't believe what he is selling. His place is NOT close to anything. You will definitely... More

The rooms at Mark's place are extremely pretty and cozy! Every thing is made out from wood and it provides a special feeling. In the room I found every thing I can think of for cooking or drinking and the supermarket is only a few minutes away. I enjoyed the greenness and the plantation of the place The location is... The owner is unstable. One evening I asked for more toilet paper, Mark questioned my usage, begrudgingly said he would bring me some and then closed up the front desk and went to bed refusing to give me any at all. One week later he asked me why I wasn't being friendly any longer. When I brought up the toilet... More

This is a true review I really stayed there and I am not being paid to say this !!! Marks Place is a great inexpensive place to stay,it's not a resort,it's like you're very own home away from home. You couldn't ask for a better host, Mark knows everything about the island and can put you in touch with everybody... More

I arrived here after sun-down, having asked a couple of the locals in my broken French what place would they recommend; and worried that I'd be sleeping by the road on my first night. The first thing Mark did was pour me a glass of cold water, which was everything I could need and more. His passion and love for... More

Mark's Place was a great accommodation option for our family of four. Mark puts a lot of effort into making his accommodation the best 'holiday park' style of accommodation that is available in Haapiti. The bungalows have been built by Mark himself and each has its own unique features and personal touches that are comfortable and interesting; our children loved... More

Marks Place Moorea is wonderful. Very affordable. We stayed in Fare Opuhi and it was fantastic! Free wifi was also very strong. All the bungalows on this well maintained property are extremely clean, spacious, and very accommodating for every travelers needs. We vacationed here for two weeks and celebrated our wedding anniversary, having returned for a second time after honeymooning... More

Kitesurfing heaven!! I lucked on Marks after staying somewhere else, his bungalows are unique and a very welcome change from the cookie cutter honeymoon hotels. Mark knows how to experience so many amazing things on the island for free. Moorea doesn't have the best public transport so a car or scooter is useful. Kayaks get you out to the epic... More

We booked this place over the phone that day, and Mark said he would give us a good deal for 2 nights in a bungalow. We arrived and were happy with what we were got for the price. In the afternoon someone came in and started cleaning, we thought that was nice but as we had only spent 1 day... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
If your looking for a place to relax and enjoy the beauty of Moorea we have the Bungalow accommodation to meet your every need. Our accommodation and environment is perfectly suited to families, groups, couples or individuals.Currently there are seven individual private bungalows spread over a 4 acre property. Each bungalow is completely unique and has everything you need for a comfortable stay (Full kitchens, attached bathroom, hot showers, Satellite TV, wifi, and so much more). If you don't have a computer than use our high speed desk to in the attached computer room.We are 200 metres back from the coastal road. The inner lagoon and reef is accessible by kayak at the end of our drive way. The nearest bathing beach(Panapo or Pineapple beach) is 4km away, 7 minutes by car or scooter, 15 minutes by push bike. This is a wonderful white sand beach that offers great swimming and snorkeling, a restaurant overlooking the beach, chairs, toilets, showers and shade all available for your use. 'Marks Place' does free delivery to Pineapple beach and then you can walk back along the beach after an enjoyable day swimming and snorkeling. Most of the surf breaks on Moorea are on the passes. The passes are breaks in the outer reef that surrounds the island. The break in front of Marks(Haapiti) is about 1km from shore. Its a very consistent break and can handle some size. It works on south swell generated from depressions that go under New Zealand. When the swell maxes Haapiti out go round to Taeme which works of big south swells that wrap round the island. See the activity/surf page for more detail. The closest sit down restaurant is a Pizza parlour 15 minutes away by push bike. A number of other restaurants are a 20 min car or scooter drive away. There is a small Magasin(Super Market) 5 minutes away by push bike with all the daily staples available, baguette, milk, fruit and vegetables etc. Mark has an arrangement with the local Pizzeria and Restaurants offering free pickup and delivery on request. We have long-standing experience accommodating and attending to the needs of our clients. We continue to build extensively, while taking into account the requirements of both traveling individuals and families seeking budget accommodation at competitive prices. ... more   less
