We (family of 4) visited the Rixos Seagate resort in August 2024. The resort is beautiful and a fabulous place to holiday. The grounds are huge with several pools and wonderful pool bars. The pool water is warm and sun-beds are plentiful all over the resort. The buggies that ship guests around the resort are plentiful and fun. There are actives galore to keep the children occupied both at the kids club, which is equipped with 2 pools, a games room, a playground and plenty of entertainment. There are also daily kids activities down by the beach. The beach is safe as it is so shallow and the water is very warm. My only complaint about the kids club is that children can help themselves to juice cartons and can request unlimited ice cream. I would have preferred water only in the self help fridges and I was not happy that my children were exposed to limitless ice cream. The water park was incredible, however, the kids section was closed a lot of days due to kids pooing in the pool. The hotel does provide some sort of swim nappies but I would suggest investing in proper quality neoprene swim nappies such as the water babies brand which will prevent leakage and stop the constant closures. The restaurant food is wonderful with plenty of restaurants to choose from providing all types of world cuisine. If you want a quick meal the main buffet restaurant is also superb and we loved the staff here. Thank you to the Mohammed’s, Ahmed and Fadi the restaurant manager. You guys made our holiday very special. Our room was gorgeous. We had a junior suite and Mossam looked after us well and introduced himself as soon as we arrived. I believe, talking to other guests that the rooms at the aqua park side are larger rooms but are not as updated and modern as the non aqua side where we stayed. We booked a private boat tour via the hotel to snorkel and drive. The tour itself was great but when we arrived a photographer boarded the boat with us and spent the next few hours taking photos of our day, which he later made into a video. At the end of the day he tried to sell us the video and pictures for $240. When we declined he dropped the price to $120. He was obviously disappointed and made it very obvious that he was unhappy with us for not purchasing. He had made a big fuss of our children but then changed his whole persona instantly when he did not get a sale. This was very disappointing for us. It made us feel bad and we should never have been put in that position. We should have been offered the service before we started and as this trip was booked through the hotel I believe the responsibility lies with the management. Apart from this incident I would thoroughly recommend Rixos Seagate. It is a luxurious hotel with amazing facilities and fabulous staff, most of whom can genuinely not do enough for you. Snorkelling at the end of the pier is a novel highlight and the evening entertainment is varied and fun, followed by dance music later on. Beware the temperature in July and August as it was scorching and very humid, even at night. Thank you Rixos Seagate for some great memories.

Amazing hotel here in the Red Sea. Great food. Drinks could be improved
The weather for mid January has been so good to us. Hardly seen a cloud all week and has been ranging from 21 to 27 with a UV of 5, which has been so nice and pleasant. Easy to sit in all day without ever breaking a sweat.
And sorry for all the updates but I’m pretty sure I have ADHD so I struggle to switch off even when on holiday, I’m constantly busy, much to the annoyance of my missis but it is what it is! 🤷🏽♂️

Anyway, I hope you’ve found the posts useful, informative and even a bit of a laugh, if I help to make just one persons holiday here a little better then I’ve achieved what I set out to do. 🙏🏽
A few things I’ve noticed between this and the sister adults hotel.
At this stage we have no idea what ‘premium’ stands for or gets you here vs the adults only. If anything the service was better there than here and that was already a high bar to meet. The fact there is no draft beer in the premium side vs adults only was a little annoying as I’m a stickler for not drinking from cans, which taste even worse when they decant into paper cups 👎🏽 I have seen grey goose here at premium but that’s not to say it’s not at adults only.
The food both sides been fantastic, same high standard for both, buffets at both pretty much identical and they have the addition of Taj Mahal Indian. We have a peoples restaurant in premium, they don’t. Their salt seafood restaurant also does a la carte lunch where the salt here doesn’t 🤷🏽♂️
These things may well come down to capacity but at the end of the day it’s irrelevant as you can use theirs as much as you like and they can use here. And so easy to get to. Either 15 minute walk down the beach road or wait 15 minutes to get the shuttle bus at the bus stop down by the outdoor gym and pier. Capacity this week is super low. Like I’d imagine 30% here at premium which makes for a lovely almost ‘have the hotel to yourself’ experience when you are at the non heated pools. Even they aren’t too cold to jump in if you have a little bravery!
I would simply compare both and pick the cheaper one (if you don’t have children of course) we did alternate days at both and booked the Taj Mahal Restaurant there.
I think the rooms here on the beach side are worth upgrading too vs the aqua side. All the bars, restaurants, pools , beach , shows and pier are on your doorstep. Never heard the main stage at night. Couldn’t be bothered having to always schlepp accross a busy main road or constantly get the shuttle bus over. I upgraded us to a premium room with full sea view in building 18 (room 18112) and was around £220 more than the deluxe aqua. Money well spent. Ali has been amazing with our room making up cute little flower arrangements.
Spa here at premium is gorgeous and the hammam body scrub was worth the 50 euro. Again due to capacity I had the spa to myself and the hammam room has another beautiful hot tub which faces out the window under the waterfall of main reception. Was quite an experience.
For activities the shows were generally very good. We missed the Queen tribute on Thursday which was a shame and X lounge has only just opened after a few months refurbishment. Never really did any gym classes but loved working out at the outdoor gyms by the beach every morning.
The beach scuba dive at the Jaz Fanara was possibly best scuba dive I’ve done! Super chilled.
For pools, we stayed at the fountain pool the majority and special shout to Mohamed, Beshoy and Ibrahim at the relax bar who were always great and ensured my bottles of Stella and Sakara were always in an ice bucket (they call it ice box) it did get busy there as one of only two heated pools but the lifeguards are super on it with towels on sunbeds. You can’t even go for breakfast and leave them down which is good in a way. The main lagoon pool here at premium was a ghost town which was ace. Two heated swim ups at the fountain and activity pool.
For guests, majority of the hotel has Russian / Ukrainian guests and it was nice to see they weren’t as rude as I have encountered in other Rixos hotels. Maybe that’s just cultural. Not so many brits but that’s cool too.
Every bar was good , the main lobby bar is small for such a huge hotel but you have Taher there who is a proper little chap. Loves peaky blinders and the British accent and practices it a lot!
Of an evening - Mangal was my favourite restaurant (shout out to Mahmoud) Italian good (sorry to our waiter who again was great, but my photo didn’t take properly) Turkish good (shout out to Ali) Indian and Asian great. People’s was nice too. Never tried the French and had the churrascaria at Rixos Premium Magawish, Hurghada which was an excellent Brazilian Rodizio.
We are coming back in spring to tick off the new Rixos Radamis Blue Planet up the road as it looks huge , bigger than these two combined which is great for us as we get bored at small resorts.
We do a lot of 5* all inclusives, and while the Rixos brand isn’t maybe as luxury and high end as the SANI and IKOS resorts, the value for money here far exceeds them.
I will share this summary / review on Google and Trip Advisor too in the hope the staff mentioned are recognised for outstanding service.
Hope you all have an amazing time here, let’s hope the airline doesn’t check weigh us like they check overweight luggage 😆

Room - Family Aqua Room was spacious with a lovely view of the main aqua pool. Slept 5 of us (3 teens) and we had more than enough space. Mini bar stocked and replenished daily with chocolate, crisps, beers, soft drinks and wine (white and red). The cleaners are hard working and always left flowers or towel displays on the beds for that wow factor when walking back in your room after a tiring sunny day!
Food - this has been the best resort we have been to for food. Both main and aqua side buffets have a good selection of foods for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Snack bars on aqua and down by the beach both good quality food. A la Cartes - our favourites were the Mengal and the Brazilian! We left both of these so full with top quality food and the overall experience was fantastic. We never had an issue booking using the QR codes at 8am each morning.
Service - This is second to none! All staff have been so friendly and polite. Even massage and excursion people are friendly and never pushy for you to purchase anything. We genuinely felt that everyone that works here just wanted you to have the best day!
Buggys from each side - We didn't really have any problems with using these. Some days you would get the odd person who would push in front of you to use them however they run very frequently. We did walk over the road each night after the entertainment as it's not even a 5 minute walk and very safe. However we do have older children so maybe some with you her children wouldn't want to do this. But we didn't at all ever feel unsafe outside of the hotel walking back and forth!
Entertainment - we spent days on both aqua and main side. Aqua side water park is brilliant, lots of lifeguards on hand and liked that there is a no alcohol policy which we found more enjoyable for the kids rather than having adults rowdy and pushing down slides. Main side had lots of water activities and we enjoyed the pool party on the Saturday afternoon. The staff work really hard to make sure everyone is having the best holiday. Evening entertainment also very very good. Always singers, dancers, djs etc. which we found very professional. Always security around so you can see this hotel wants to keep this hotel classy and safe for all. We were out here for international women's day and the staff worked so hard on entertainment and decoration for this occasion.
Overall I would 100000% recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a luxury stay in Egypt. We will be looking to return!

The hotel is really a 5 star hotel, I am sure the service etc were 5 stars at the beginning. Everything was designed and built perfectly to the finest details but it seems they have to do some improvements if they want to keep their status. To give some examples (and some photos): - The picture of the rooms are not the actual rooms, at least this was so for our room. There was very little room left to move around with three beds in it (see pic). - The toilet and the shower are 1 sq.m each and not very clean (see pic). - The only telephone in the room is in the toilet cabin (see pic). - The room floor was not cleaned properly, there were sticky remains on the floor next to a bed (see pic). - The map and the information sheet given during check-in are not accurate or up-to-date. There is a bar named "X Lounge" but it is not shown on both documents, The location is named Tirana Bech Bar on the map. I am sure there are more issues like this. - The phone numbers for the services are not on the information sheet. Only the Concierge was given and when we dialed the number no one answered. We had to carry our own luggage to the reception area which was quite a long distance. - The videos on social media by guests did not reflect the reality we witnessed. We stayed a week and they never had BBQ in the main restaurant, shrimps were given only once. Apart from that, the food variety and quality was good. - The waiters are doing their best but some organisation must be done to increase their efficiency. Either you are asked what to drink 3-4 times or you cannot get anything to drink until you finish your meal. - Communication can be an issue also, I asked for Turkish Coffee and was served Iced-Coffee. - The pools are well designed and huge, so they are very popular. If you want to use them, the sunbeds are almost always reserved with towels. We wanted to go there once because the jetty was closed due to high winds, there was none available. While looking around, a family came, talked to one of the lifeguards and suddenly towels were removed and the lifeguard received a 10 usd bill for the service.
The above is meant as a feedback to the management to improve the service quality to the level that the hotel deserves.

Rixos is the best hotel in Egypt I’ve ever stayed at. Having visited the country three times, I was deeply impressed by the exceptional level of customer service, the friendliness, and responsiveness of the staff. Special thanks to the reception team at the Aqua zone, who were always ready to assist and ensure a comfortable stay.
The room cleaning service deserves special recognition: impeccable cleanliness, attention to detail, and delightful touches like towel animals for children. The minibar is also well-stocked and impressive.
The hotel grounds are spacious and well-maintained, and the cuisine is simply outstanding. The restaurants Veranda, Turquoise, Salt, Mangal, and People's amazed us with their exquisite flavors. We’ve never experienced such delicious food anywhere else.
The only downside is the windy weather and the rough, empty sea, which is due to the hotel’s geographical location. However, the hotel staff went out of their way to mitigate this minor drawback.
Thank you for a wonderful stay! We will definitely return and choose the Rixos chain when visiting other countries.

We stayed as a family of 4 with 2 teenagers in August and loved it. We stayed on the Aqua side in a family room was happy in general with the room although we did have issues initially with the TV remote not working so on the first night we couldn’t turn the tv off and despite going to reception no one came to help us. We eventually managed to sort it but at 1 o clock in the morning I wasn’t impressed. After this initial blip the room was fine.
The first full fay the aqua pool got closed due to it needing sanitising after someone 💩’d which meant it was closed for a large chunk of the day, again not the best start but not the hotels fault and it was fine each day after this. The life guard Mohammad was great and really friendly.
The aqua pool bar guys were also great, Ali was very attentive and always bought us regular ice buckets to keep our drinks cold which was a lovely touch.
Mohammad in the veranda restaurant was also great, he would always go out of his way to find us a table at lunchtime and very friendly.
Samuel and Shafiq in the aqua lounge bar were the best and made great cocktails, always very friendly and service always came with a smile and bit of banter.
In terms of booking al a cartes, it wasn’t the easiest of systems to use but we managed to get in all the restaurants we wanted and each of them were great.
All in all we had a great holiday and it was the first time I’ve been away on a holiday like this where I could easily have stayed longer. The only thing I wouldn’t do is stay in August again, the heat was just too oppressive but I would go defo go again in a cooler season.

Our stay at the Rixos (3rd-10th Aug) was fabulous! The rooms were clean and perfectly positioned for us (main side blocks 10 & 12). The drinks were plentiful, food delicious in buffet (always lots of variety and no need to replicate a meal unless you want to!) and a la carte restaurants (Asian, Italian, Brazilian and Mangal Outdoor BBQ) - we always left feeling very satisfied with the food and experience. Pools were great - lots of options including a lively activity pool (aqua boxing, aqua cycling, aqua jumping classes were great fun) and various depths for different aged children. The pool attendants were helpful and always managed to find us a lounger even when busy. Lots of lifeguards around so always felt safe. The snorkelling was fantastic! We saw lots of colourful fish at the end of the pier. Life jackets and flippers were provided and we had our own snorkels and masks. Our waiters/servers in the buffet restaurant (Mohammed, Saad & Nabil, Abdulrahman with glasses, Abdulrahman without glasses, Osama) were so attentive and quick to serve drinks/refills, clear dirty plates and always provided a cheerful atmosphere. Hana (the crepe lady) looked after our kids and made creative pancake shapes for them daily. They loved her so much! The kids club had a range of activities and shows daily to keep the younger children entertained. The detox juice bar and gozleme by the beach was so tasty 🤤 The beach was beautiful, clean and had plenty of sun loungers available throughout the day. Drinks orders were taken and fulfilled quickly. The buggys around the resort were very welcome in the heat of Aug and were very frequent. You could jump on and off at the designated bus stops or anywhere in between by flagging down a buggy. The water park was great fun for all ages and there was little/no wait for the slides. Loved the different flavours of slushie and soft serve ice creams available at the pool and beach bars. It was very hot (40C on some days) but plenty of shade in outdoor areas and great AC in indoor areas. Our room was cleaned daily to a high standard and minibar & snacks restocked to our preferences. The receptionists and concierge were helpful with fulfilling room requests and reconfirming our pick up transfer to airport. My family loved our stay at the Rixos and would love to go back as soon as possible!!

We stayed at the rixos premium seagate last year and found it faultless. This year we returned and still had a fabulous stay but do feel standards have slipped and maybe a review like this will help bring it back up again. Last year we stayed up by reception, the location was perfect for us and our little ones. This year with plenty of notice we respectfully requested a similar area, sadly this was just ignored and we were placed down closer to the beach in block 20. No issue with the room other than one day we returned to find the cleaner had not shut the door after service and anyone could have walked in while we were away but thankfully all was ok. This location caused us issues with our little one getting to sleep of a night time as the noise from the entertainment literally bellowed through the room. After a few nights we spoke to reception and the area we requested was available and we could have been placed where we requested they just chose not to bother, poor service for returning guests. I found the pool areas to be the area of most slipped standards, the top lagoon pool had far too much debris from the surrounding trees and after a week of being here I can’t say I saw anyone cleaning the debris or the other debris such as tissues floating. Next slipped standard would be there didn’t appear to be anyone cleaning the surface lines of the pools, scum lines all round and also tiles in places coming away and need attention, especially by the pool bar by the lagoon pool. Next slipped standard from last year cleanliness of sun beds and tables, they need a good clean and we just didn’t witness this once during our stay. Next would be the pool side area, beds need all moving out and a good jet wash of the areas, instead there were regularly wooden spoons from the ice cream under the beds for days on end which should be picked up on by way of a daily sweep/ clean. This review is a little critical being compared to last year but still highly recommend you stay. Huge pros All staff can’t do enough for you Food, faultless and plentiful so much choice and so so nice. In particular the steak restaurant by the beach, this is an absolute must book. Amazing cuts of steak lamb chicken prawns all cooked to absolute perfection and second must book is the bbq restaurant on the beach, we were lucky enough to have Chef Salah cook for us again as he did last year. This is our 2nd visit to this hotel and I feel it’s gone down hill, it’s not 5 star. Last year I was happy to recommend and come back but I don’t think I can say the same this year.
I would say the staff in restaurants, life guards etc are fantastic friendly & helpful.
However lots of silly things let this resort down.
The pools need a thorough clean (mould round the bar areas etc) and maintenance to fix broken tiles etc. I appreciate they need to empty the pools to do this but it was needed last year and even worse this year.
The al a carte reservation system is a joke. You have to be up at 8am to book and if you have multiple rooms you have to enter all the details each time and in that time the tables go! Reservation booking systems are used all over the world and I’ve never been to a hotel that makes it’s so difficult to use!
The service in the restaurants is hit and miss. Salt was fantastic but O’Livio it felt like the waiter didn’t want to be there. Throwing down plates, main course being served when starter was barely finished and not cleared away. It’s not the end of the world but I hate being rushed through a meal, a bit of timing is all that’s needed. Benay the manager in there was lovely and helpful.
We booked Mykonos last night and this was a disappointment. The food was average. The music was fine but way too loud I had to shout to speak to the person next to me, doesn’t make for a nice family meal! The staff again were brilliant and the plate smashing & dancing they were great with the kids! But it’s not worth the extra charge for the food!
I would say in general the food quality has dropped since last year. It’s not bad there is lots of choice. I just don’t think the quality is as good.
Last year they had the conference room set up with movies for the kids and had staff doing activities with the kids. Arts & crafts, face painting etc this was fantastic in the evening as the kids had something to do and adults could sit there play cards have a drink etc This has now gone but they haven’t replaced it with anything so in the evening if you don’t want to go to the main entertainment (which is loud so again no good if you want to talk with your family, fine if you want to watch a show) there is no entertainment for the kids. They have also reduced the amount of seats in the bar so it’s not always easy to get seats together. If they want to use this facility for conferences and that’s where they are aiming their clientele that’s fine but don’t advertise yourself as a family hotel then.
The buggy’s - these are a great feature to get you round the resort and another reason for booking this resort as we have a disabled member of our group who struggles to walk or stand for any long period. We will wait for a buggy others will come along after and when the buggy comes they will swarm the buggy and you can’t then get on. Now maybe this is my Britishness and I’m used to queuing and waiting my turn but I find this so rude. Not the hotels fault they can’t control rude guests but maybe they could have some sort of queuing system so people don’t jump in front!
Nothing is terrible but it’s lots of little things that mean this isn’t a 5 star hotel, isn’t worth the money they charge and why we wouldn’t choose to return here.
