At the Pickalbatros Royal Moderna Resort, guests are greeted with a lively atmosphere which, despite occasional criticism regarding music choices, adds to the festive vibe of the property. The staff generally receives high marks for their attentive and professional service, although it can sometimes be hit or miss. While some guests find the value proposition lacking due to overpriced extras and basic accommodations, the hotel's amenities, including an array of pools and restaurants, are often celebrated.
The resort's cleanliness is widely commended, and its proximity to the airport and scenic location are well-regarded, although beach activities can be impacted by the tide. Room experiences vary, with some describing them as modern and well-maintained, while others suggest a need for updates and more consistent upkeep.

Staff amazing, food loads to choose from can be repetitive if staying longer then 2 weeks. Lifeguards and bar staff are phenomenal can’t do enough for you always willing to help in any situation. Rooms keys were an issue we have been 3 times before and had to request it reset once, however this time was a pure nightmare we had two rooms next to each other and over the holidays we had to reset keys daily and we weren’t the closest to reception. So after a few days going back to the room and then having to go back to reception was a bug bear.
My only one disappointment was the vodka. It is not the most pleasant drink to drink here the local vodka is like petrol it burns. Only way you can drink it is by having a very little bit in the glass topped with your mixer. It defeats the purpose of being all inclusive if you need to bring your own vodka to drink. Hopefully next time I visit the vodka has improved.
Apart from that this hotel with all the staff is phenomenal and can’t imagine going anywhere else. Mustafa the lifeguard we have much love for him along with the rest they are 100% god guys and work hard . Keep Being you 🥰🥰🥰

Everybody, hello! I really wanted to leave a review about our holiday and for a very long time I chose a website where you can do this. For starters, we went on vacation as a family. Me, husband and son) This trip is a gift from my husband for our anniversary, 10 years together, round date :)) before I left I found the hotel email on the official website, and wrote to the hotel directly, asked if there was any possibility to surprise my husband, I was answered already in the morning, told that they would be happy to pay compliments in honor of our anniversary)))
So, we flew to the charm of El Sheikh, passed all the checks and registrations, went outside and there already met us guide, Joyce Tour, took us to the bus. Came to the hotel, surrendered our passports, left our suitcases at the reception and sent us to eat in the food court) When they came back - our room was already ready , lived in room 2312, on the third floor , view of the neighboring hotel :))) but it doesn't matter, because when we came in , the husband's reaction was unforgettable, there was a chocolate cake in the room and the bed was decorated insanely beautiful) flower petals, towels, leaflets , everything is so beautiful and cool! You know, it's very nice that the hotel management treats the requests of its customers like this! Thank you so much, so much for that!
So about the number:)) The room was clean, cozy , there was a double bed for my husband and I and a single bed for my son) water stood and cold in the mini bar and warm on the table , very pleased(we do not give the child cold water), there was a safe where you can store valuables and money, tea, coffee, milk powder. Pick up nothing extra and everything was enough. I also want to thank the cleaners, so well done, the room is clean, the area is clean, the mirrors and glass fences shine! Bravo! It was also possible to order bathrobes, slippers, toothbrushes (it is free of charge, but no room check-in). For them to come, you have to go to the very beautiful girls - Alaina and Marina! Kind people, also in Russian say :)) On all questions addressed to them - always helped) well and we thanked them 🍫💲
There's a lot of food, and it's delicious and varied. Our favorite restaurant was Italian (only open for dinner ), and during the day we always ate in Tajina or the food court. In Tazhin everyone made a shavarma from their traditional bread (with beef or chicken), the grill is also very delicious. The restaurants also have a children's area with small tables, chairs and a TV with cartoons, and there are large tables nearby, so parents can stay close while the children eat in their own restaurant:) Also really liked the kid's slide, especially where the pirate ship and with a big bucket pouring out, didn't come out of the pools. By the way they are warm, it is cold only to climb out because of the wind:( That's the only downside, the wind, in winter you certainly don't swim in the sea, there was only one time in the sea, the rest of the time was too windy. Although that's not the case with the hotel. Next time we will come in May!!! And then I think we can enjoy the rest even more!

Second time at this hotel, and the experience is extremely positive. One of the main advantages was the location of our room - with stunning sea views. In the morning it is nice to wake up to the noise of the waves and in the evening enjoy the beautiful sunsets directly from the balcony. The room inside turned out to be very cozy, neat and comfortable, without any reproach. Cleaning was done daily and very high quality: it was always clean, and towels and linen - fresh.
I especially want to celebrate the restaurant. The food was varied, delicious and always fresh. A wide selection of dishes - from local cuisine to classic European options. Desserts deserve special praise — there were many, and something new was offered each evening. Alcoholic beverages were also pleasantly surprising - the choice was wide, and the quality of the beverages was up to scratch.
The property is very well maintained and clean. There are several swimming pools, which is very convenient, as you can choose an area according to your mood. Particularly enjoyed the pool bar, where you could refresh yourself with a cocktail without going far from the sun lounger. We were also impressed by the beautiful coral reef, although it will take a little walk across the pontoon bridge. For scuba divers, it's a real treat.
I would like to mention the friendly and attentive staff. All staff are available to help, have responded quickly to any requests and have created a sense of hospitality.
Yes, there was wind at the time, but these are the characteristics of the region, and the quality of recreation was not affected.
Overall, the hotel left a wonderful impression. If you are looking for a place with excellent service, good cuisine and beautiful views, choose this option with courage!

I didn’t understand the general enthusiasm and the average high rating of the hotel: the hotel is mediocre, 4* is a stretch. I love the Albatross chain in Egypt and choose it often, but Modena is not the best representative of the chain in general. Check-in: we waited a couple of hours until 14:00. The room is large, tired, the curtains are dirty, dusty, haven’t been washed for years, the plumbing has seen better days about 25 years ago, the magnetic key doesn’t work properly, you have to constantly entice it to the reception, the bedding is washed with some kind of hellish mixture, which causes a wild cough, which There is no room outside, I strongly do not recommend it to asthmatics and allergy sufferers. There is only water in the minibar. One of the advantages is a large, comfortable bed. They clean well, the cleaners are very annoying. Territory - pool areas and water park. There are always free sun loungers, a good children's water park (adults didn't go), and the waiters by the pool are attentive. The beach is not swimmable - you need to walk along the pier for about 10 minutes to reach the depths, there are few sun loungers on the pier and there is not even water. The reef, if you do get there, is good - fish, corals. The restaurant is divided into thematic areas such as fish, oriental, German, Italian, etc. There is a lot of food, but all of it is wildly cheap and tasteless. Seriously, I have never encountered such a variety of tasteless food; I managed to lose weight during my vacation. At the fish store one time there were small unpeeled shrimps, the rest of the time there was some kind of fish like tilapia, I would be embarrassed to give that to cats. Even vegetable salads and snacks, which in Egypt are usually delicious everywhere due to the freshness of the products, are not good at all, I’m not talking about meat and desserts. A daytime restaurant on the beach with generally inedible food, and I can’t consider myself a picky eater. Fruits include apples, bananas, oranges, persimmons, unripe dates (really hard, this is apparently some kind of national dish), the apotheosis is grapes, and that’s all. The most disgusting thing is that the oldest plates in restaurants are kind of gray, cracked, and greasy. Drinks at lunch and dinner in tiny glasses, inconsumable wine; At the pool bar they make normal cocktails for tips. Animation (for children) is very so-so, you can clearly see how the animator is bored at the children's disco and dreams of its speedy completion. For all intents and purposes, the hotel is very so-so.

We visited this hotel as a large family group. This is a friendly hotel and kept spotlessly clean throughout the day and evenings. The hotel is less than 20 minutes from the airport which is great after a 5 hour flight. The staff go above and beyond to provide you with the very best service, I would like to give a huge thank you to Osama Ahmed who worked the beach bar, your service and memory for drinks was outstanding . There are many pools on the complex and 2 are heated which is great if any of your party or small children are sensitive to cold pools. The food was great, you will find something tasty to eat every day, some of the chefs could do with smiling a little more but it’s no issue. The beach is the best I have ever been on for snorkelling, I’ve never seen so many colourful fish in waist deep water. The in-house taxi rank is a nice touch, you can book a safe taxi instantly, pay a very reasonable set fare and not get harassed to pay more at the end. My only criticism is the size of the glasses for drinks especially if your a larger drinker, SO, take your own large cup (cups are all plastic around the pools anyway) and the staff will happily fill it for you every time. All in all, this is a great hotel for couples, families and groups alike. The location is good and the hotel security make you feel safe all the time.

We went here on vacation for 10 days in October 2023. The overall impression of the hotel is extremely positive: good service, friendly staff who really try, a large and most importantly clean area of the hotel itself. The hotel has many restaurants, but from the first day we somehow became attached to "Tagine", which is by the second pool, closer to the water park: very efficient and courteous staff, excellent choice of food (one might say traditional, we liked it), and It's relatively calm there. After dinner, we usually headed to the bar by the main pool, there is a more lively atmosphere, there is an evening program (oriented more towards children, but at times with live music), excellent cocktails at the bar itself and great bartenders. Regarding drinks in the hotel, all alcohol was local (we didn’t see imported alcohol in any bar), but it was basically normal (no headaches) and in abundance. You won’t be able to swim separately along the beach, from the shore, it’s too shallow and at times there are a lot of representatives of the local flora and fauna :) There is a long pontoon, from which there are several descents to areas where the depth is just over a meter and you can comfortably see the felling and the reef itself with a mask. At the very end of the pontoon there is a descent into the sea, it is already deep there and usually very windy, there is definitely nothing to do there without a vest and mask. In general, you can swim in the pools, but not in open water (the sea in this place is rarely calm). We had no complaints about the cleaning of the room: it was clean and fast, at times they twisted swans out of towels and decorated us with rose petals, it was nice :) Among the guests there were many Russian speakers, as well as groups of Poles, Italians, Germans and Englishmen. Overall, we liked it.

One of the best hotels in the area. The rooms, restaurants, pools are always clean. Very attentive and friendly staff. There’s plenty of activity if you want to participate. You can always find something fun in the pools or in the evenings. There are 4 different restaurants, fish , red meat, chicken, duck, dishes, lots of greenery, salad, desserts, etc quite rich and clean cuisine. Each restaurant has interconnecting doors, and there are dining spaces. There’s even a kids’ area with TVs and small table chairs, where families and kids can dine. It has a long pier, and where you enter the water from the pier, it’s like an aquarium. Swimming with fish of various colors and heights, there are constant lifeguards at every pool and in the sea for your safety. Free equipment like a lifeguard, everything is thoughtful for your convenience. The aqua park is beautiful. There are plenty of pools, I didn’t count, but there are as many as 10. Some are heated and others are normal. While we’re in the middle of December, the sea water temperature is around 23°. No problem like getting cold in the sea. The only problem is that some Turkish sharm flights are in the night, so check-in and check-out times don’t match your hotel check-in and check-out times, but they try to give you your room as soon as possible when you arrive. Aside from that, you’re already wearing your anklet and taking advantage of hotel amenities. We loved you picalbatros, Next time we’ll pick up the kids and hopefully we’ll come along!

Lovely hotel. Staff are friendly. The pools were great. We spent our whole holiday beside the kids pools and we could not get the kids out. The adult aqua park is at the front of the hotel and that was fun and not as busy as expected probably because it was away from the main hub.
Now this is Egypt so although the hotel says its 5 star...it is to Egyptian standard. Its more like a 4 star.. Food was repetitive although plentiful. Room cleaning was poor and I think our cleaner didn't do a good job but I just couldn't be bothered to complain. The kids club has a lot to be desired. Not 5 star at all! More like 2 star! We didn't go to the gym on site so can't comment. The taxi service in the hotel is expensive, better to walk to the main entrance and haggle with them to get a better price. Overall, we enjoyed and I would give the hotel and holiday a strong 7. Would visit the hotel again.

This is a great 3 star hotel on first impression looks clean but, when you start looking you realise needs a little tlc The staff are amazing and freindly and very attentive,I tipped in 1 dollar bills but was able to change more cash in to egyptian low denomination bills . The entertainment team try to speak English but also have yo speak Russian,German and Italian,I found it hard to understand at times and felt was not really inclusive The food at beach was great and you can always find something to eat but we chose to eat at soho most nights using taxi from hotel with return £15 and we also enjoyed hard rock which is walking distance The beach was great the swings are really good and the parks also great Also great lil ones can snorkle as water is not deep at all
Plenty of slides kids enjoyed But not hotel fault but alot kids not been watched by parents The alchol have to say was absolutely undrinkable and small paper cup for beer would need to ho up like 6 times to have a pint Wish had listen to other brought some from duty free which I will do when I go to other property in hurgardha in The hotel is a very very good 3 star resort and at price I paid I was more than happy than what I got but I did only pay £1800 for October holiday 2 adult 2 children including transfer and airport lounge The life guards work really hard and also help keep pool area clean and ensure all have beds One thing I really liked no issue getting sun beds plenty for all Also Irish bar decor ?? Not very Irish and opening times are very limited So thank you to all staff that made the holiday great And coffee us beautiful no need for Costa

Not the best hotel, we vacationed in Hurghada before, we liked it there much more. The main disadvantage is that no one writes about it, and we read a lot of reviews before the trip, in the summer, July-August, mostly locals vacation, and from neighboring countries, Saudi Arabia, Palestine, they vacation with families, and almost 80% of vacationers are Arabs, we didn’t really like this fact, they are very arrogant and noisy. At the reception, the staff takes a very long time to check in. There are many restaurants, but almost every restaurant has food the same type for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. There is no variety, every day is almost the same. There are few fruits, and vegetables are also not the most delicious. The animation program is different every day, but rather boring, sometimes unfair, especially when competitions were held, local residents always won the competitions. The program started at 21:00, around 21:40 it ended, the disco began, and already at 22:00 the disco ended. And after 22:00 there is silence in the hotel. And they also played music for the locals; during our vacation we probably already learned all the songs that were popular with them. The room was not bad, but not ideal, the water in the sink was constantly draining slowly, apparently the riser there was not cleaned. After the shower, it also didn’t go well, and as a result, due to stagnation of water, an unpleasant smell began in the bathroom. And there is a lot of deception on the part of hotel guides, we were on vacation from the JoinUp company, we were told about an all-inclusive excursion, and we focused on a trip to the sea on a yacht, as a result, out of three promised stops at sea, there was only one, complete disappointment . And on further excursions we already went with local guides, it turned out to be two times cheaper than with the guides at the hotel. The pier is long, there are two entrances to the “splash pool” where the water is waist-deep, since in the evening the tide is low. And at the end of the pier there is access to the sea, where everyone either just swims or swims with masks. This brightened up our holiday, we went to the large pier, at lunchtime they hung out a green flag there, and we swam there. The coral reef there is really very beautiful, we saw a lot of fish, and even once a turtle, which is rare there.
