I stayed at this safe, serene place in the lovely Bahariya Oasis before and after a tour with Loly, who runs Egypt Western Desert Tours (highly recommend for local tours and camping around the white and black deserts!) The owner, Osam, was so hospitable. The meals are feasts. Delicious local food. The Garden is a lovely place to sit and enjoy the sun. There’s also a Bedouin tent to sit in and drink tea. Simple rooms with a good vibe, lots of space, hot water, heating/AC, soap shampoo and towels provided.

I’ve stayed here before and opted to stay again cause I’d enjoyed my previous trip. They’ve added some wonderful excursions and we opted for the desert safari which was spectacular. It was great to see a different side to Egypt besides the usual tourist destinations & was great to escape f the hustle and bustle of cairo which can be both exciting and overwhelming at times. Highly recommended stay

Safe, clean, well organised and friendly staff make this in my opinion the best place to start a White Desert, Black Desert or Western Desert Safari or for just being in Bahariya itself. Islam the manager makes sure that this is a wonderful experience for all and the actual safari was one of the best things we have done in Egypt!

We stopped at Desert Rose on our way back from a White Desert Safari which they had helped us to organise. Beautiful location, friendly and helpful staff, great local food and we even got to try dates fresh off the tree!

This is THE place to stay in Bahariya. The staff led by Islam are extremely helpful and safaris into the White Desert and Beyond, even to Siwa can be arranged by them at a good price and in a friendly and professional manner. We could not be happier with our experience at the Eco Lodge or into the Desert with Mohammad, Islam and the guys. Highly recommended.

Rustic rooms with good amenities in a nicely scaped garden environment. Tasty food with the extra touches. The palm gardens of the oasis just outside the door. We feel sad with the owners about being the only guests in their nice place.

We picked the Desert Rose from the internet based on the trip advisor rating. Thanks Trip Advisor! I remember the review said something about how it is great to be with Mohamed, the owner. When I emailed, he replied and said we could come. I then asked about getting there, and he said he would be coming our dates, we could go and return with him. Not sure that will happen for you, but although the lodge is wonderful (very quiet, sounds of Egypt, donkeys, lots of dates in season, and we enjoyed swimming in the nearby hot-springs, with veiled Muslim women, which was completely out of character with what one expects in Egypt, but no one seemed to concerned), the highlight was Mohamed who told us about initiatives to improve tourism and build his lodge. Yes, we loved the trips out into the desert, which we insisted must include regular rock-picking stops for our young boys.

We spent 3 wonderful days with our family in Bahariya. The Eco Lodge is comfortable, simple and very clean, the food was good, the programmes were interesting and well-organised. OUr company had various ages, and everybody enjoyed our time in BAhariya from kids to adults. The staff were very kind, helpful, flexible and efficient. We recommend this place for everybody, adults or families. It was an unforgettable getaway from the Egyptian everyday life!

"This is not a big establishment with the dining hall literally a few steps outside the rooms and the reception area a few more steps away. The rooms are all pretty similar. There is no connecting rooms and each room sleeps a maximum of 3 persons. All rooms overlook the same view on one side and doors open into a common fruit garden courtyard."
