Our room was quite small, but well-appointed and nicely decorated. There was a small balcony and a rooftop terrace with a nice view of the town. Siwi is a quiet town and the bed was comfy enough, no complaints in the sleeping department.

However, everyone in our group of six (6) had no running water for most of the 2-days we stayed there. Each of us let the reception know numerous times, with promises it would be fixed in a couple of hours . We were desperate coming back from overnight in the desert so they did provide us with keys to another room so we could have a shower, but for whatever reason, they would not move us over. It was very frustrating as it seems our complaints were just being ignored.

Breakfast was included but it was the plainest breakfast I have ever seen: instant coffee, tea, pita, jam, cheese and cucumber. We ordered dinner one night, the food was fine, but we paid a lot more than I would have expected for that meal.

There is no drinking on the premises, but you can get a drink at the Popular Restaurant across the street.

Wonderful family business. The owners were very friendly and professionals, so was the staff. The food was really good at the hotel as well as in the White Desert. My room was clean, spacious, confortable, with air conditioning and a large balcony. The roof terrasse was also very nice! I didn't really want to stay over night in the White Desert for camping but once there the decision was very easy to make. Extremely professional driver! Great experience!

We stayed two nights at this hotel as part of our tour. It was a nice place to stay - to be honest, it looked like the nicest hotel in the town that I could see. And it's location was great.

The Bahariya Oasis is a small place with no a lot to do, so it was nice to have a good hotel room to return to. The room was fairly standard as Egypt goes - we had two single (and hard) beds with one pillow each. There was a working AC in the room, a small television, wardrobe and bathroom. The bathroom was typical with no bathtub, but at least this hotel had a raised partition to stop the water from the shower from flowing everywhere (it still managed to get all over the floor). All rooms also featured balconies which were great for enjoying the sun, drying out your clothes or seeing the oasis from a high perspective.

The rest of the hotel was nicely appointed, with a big lobby and comfortable seating. There was a restaurant in the hotel that served good, typical Egyptian food (rice, chicken, potatoes) and reliable, fast Internet was for use on a computer at 20 EGP per hour.

Right out the front door you have access to a lot of essentials. First, and most important, the only place that serves beer in the oasis is across the street - the Popular Restaurant. There are also a few shops that you can buy food, water, chips, etc at very reasonable prices. Finally, there are two internet cafes on the street although their internet was never working so we used the hotels.

You could walk to a few of the Bahariya attractions from the hotel - the Golden Mummies and the two tombs across the street. The hotel also doubles as a company that will organize any sort of desert trips you'd like to take including camping.

Overall, this was a good place to rest the head for a couple of days. The rooms were typical standard rooms, the hotel was able to organize any sort of trip you wanted and the location in the small town of Bahariya couldn't be beat. I'd absolutely stay here again.

Spent two nights here, and was glad to have a clean, cool room to relax in after hot and dusty days exploring the desert and oasis. The room was very large, with a spacious bathroom. The shower caused some puddles, but was otherwise fine. The rooftop patio was a bonus.

Had a wonderful time at this hotel, the staff were extremely friendly and professional, rooms were clean, meals were delicious and its location is excellent for western desert touring. I would definately recommend this hotel and a camping trip in the desert, there drivers are also extremely professional. As a solo female traveller i felt comfortable here and will look forward to returning.

I had the misfortune of staying at this hotel for 2 nights, and I have to say it was dreadful. Like previous reviewers, I found the staff to be more interested in playing computer games or watching TV (in the lobby, spread out on the chairs, with volume screaming).

My room, which overlooked the 'main street' was noisy, due to the location - the hotel is surrounded by mechanical repair businesses, so noisy well into the night.

On the evening of the day I arrived, we headed into the nearby desert for an overnight camp, and I must say this was definitely the highlight of being in Bahariya. However, prior to hearing off I wanted a shower after the long drive - no hot water. Nor was there any hot water on either of the following 2 days/nights I stayed there.

There was, however, a flooded bathroom and it was home to cockroaches.

The Eygptian tourism site lauds this hotel, and mentions free wifi - not so. It's psy as you use, however after being told to wait a few minutes and then waiting around the lobby for over an hour for access while the two staff members continued their computer game and tv watching, I gave up.

The hotel brochure boasts a 'swimming pool under construction'. There's a serious design flaw in this roof top pool, and I can safely say that construction will never reach completion. It also mentions a number of restaurants nearby - there's one, with a set menu that rotates every two days, chicken one day, lamb the next.

This hotel is a disgusting dump, check-in at your own peril. Plus, there's no lift (the lift well doors are locked), so if you're not up to walking up flights of stairs, you're in trouble. Give it a very wide berth.

This hotel looks fine from the outside. To begin with the negative, the young man whom we dealt with was watching tv from morning to evening! So when we asked for something, he gave us a unsmiling face... At breakfeast, he gave us unwashed forks, knives and spoons! The small kitchen corner he works in is truly filthy! Probably never cleaned. When going up to our room, the rail was full of dust, so the floors including the one in our room. When we asked the young man for a second towel as we are a couple, he handed us a smelley one that was probably washed for some time. Wifi was working only in the lobby; when we used our laptop there, the young man set the volume of the tv set at max! The only two times whe caught a smile on his face was when we arrived and departed; for handling our backpacks, we gave him a bakchich... The only positive, the owners or managers, not often seen, were pleasant persons.

I stayed in Western Desert hotel only for one day and then booked their desert safari to the White and Black desert. I would say this is one of the best budget hotel in Bahariya. Also, their desert safaris are really good and I thoroughly enjoyed it.
