Our 2nd Trencrucero night. The property visually was magnificent, and we believe it is a couple of hundred years old. Our room, 209 was huge, with a separate living area, and quite a modern bathroom. And despite this place being alongside TransAm highway, our room was fairly quite. But the rooms were dark due to poor lighting. Polished timber floors...

Beautiful hotel ! Very cozy and charming . Nice to stay there for one night . We often go there out our way to quito by car . The food is delicious , very original dishes and never been disappointed. The food is very well priced . The hotel is quite expensive but it is a very elegant hotel ....

This was our second stay at the wonderful Hosteria Andaluza, this time with friends. Driving from the Cotacachi way north of Ecuador to Salinas is too much to do in one day and still enjoy the trip. There is nowhere better to stay than the Hosteria Andaluza just to the north of Riobamba. The location is beautiful; the Hosteria represents...

We stayed for one night in the uber-kitschy suite "Simon Bolivar". The room was quite cold and only lighting the admittedly very romantic fireplace was able to change that. What we couldn't do anything about is the combination of single-glass windows and the location of the hotel right next to the Panamericana: the trucks seemed to pass straight through the...

Dear Mr. Haas, With great concern and interest I read your comment, we are seriously committed to achieving customer satisfaction, therefore your opinion and feedback are precious for us. We respect your opinion about the decoration of our Simón Bolívar Suite, and we understand that it is subjective and based on personal judgements. However, with all the respect you deserve,...

As a child I was very fortunate to travel through Great Britain and parts of Europe on many occasions. Coming from Canada, historic significance could be a can of Campbell’s soup. Old just doesn’t exist in the European style in Canada. Canadians seemingly have limited attachment to historical buildings. At the Hosteria the massive number of antiques and the cache...

Although we were there only one night as part of a tour, it was some of the best food and comfy accommodations we had. The lodge is sprawling and we therefore had our worries but management handles everything beautifully. The public rooms (hallways, bar, sitting, etc.) are full of roses and antiques. Our dinner's main course was served on a...

The hotel is an old hacienda of one of the first conquistadores in Ecuador. The rooms and all the other places are really beautiful, equiped with old furniture .. like colonial times never ends ... Food in the restaurant is excellent and the prices very acceptable.

We too stayed here for 1 night as part of the Tren Crucero trip & really enjoyed it. If you want beautiful 5* hotels then you have to stay in the cities stray out into the countryside then expect something different. A large hosteria with rooms down many corridors but the staff where on hand to guide you & it...

The hotel is a treasure trove, so full of old bits and pieces, so lovely. The room was a good size, very clean and the service was good, friendly and efficient . Good food. We would have liked to stay longer but only had the one night there to break a journey. The only thing that we missed is a...

The newly renovated rooms are beautiful, the staff is really friendly and the food delicious. I really recommend the cheese fondue. The only thing they should impove is the buffett breakfast but thats it. Its the perfect place if you are going on the train trip to Nariz del Diablo.
