We visited the Purelax Mountain Hotel in August for four nights. We had the most relaxing stay thanks to the incredible mountainside scenery, the amazing room, and the wonderful hospitality of the staff. All the rooms are suites and they are HUGE! It’s the biggest suite we’ve ever stayed in and we didn’t want to leave. Each suite has a living room area, a massive balcony with a view of the mountain, a tub with a TV, a walk-in closet, and more. It doesn’t get much better than having coffee on the balcony in the morning with a view of the mountain. It’s a great hotel to just hang out in and relax. There’s a nice game room and a piano that guests were using quite a bit. We made full use of the facilities and even used the spa which was really good (but a bit expensive). I did feel like there was a lot of space in the hotel that could have been utilized in other ways, but I suppose that’s just nitpicking. The restaurant was good for breakfast, not great. The best thing on the menu for dinner is the yak hotpot. It was my wife’s birthday and I was scrambling to find a cake. The restaurant originally said they didn’t have any cake, but a member of the staff named Lucy was able to get a birthday cake in time. A special thanks to her for making it an even better stay!

Really pretty backdrop with the snow mountains in the yard.Everything about this hotel is incredible. From the moment you check in or from the moment you arrived!Every single member of the staff treats their job as if it's an honor to be a part of a wonderful family. At the same time,I would gave my special thank to an admirable front desk manger - Damon, whom paid attention to my whole trip during this stay. Certainly I will stay at your hotel again and again, also recommend to my friends as well. Damon & your team - WELL DONE!

It was our first time to Lijiang. The hotel situates at the bottom of the Yulong Snow Mountain. All rooms have spectacular mountain view. Yulong Mountain has altitude of 5000+m and the hotel is at 3100 altitude level. It is advisable to take high altitude medicine. The hotel has tasteful decor that gives you the feel of a mountain lodge. Every detail has been well thought of. Customer service is warm and personal although not flawless, staff do go extra mile to satisfy guests. I want to compliment an agent at the reception 苏 Kiki. She is very friendly when we first interface at checkin. I asked her about places to visit in the area and she suggested us to take the cable car to the mountain top. It was a very good idea as we were afraid of climbing the mountain at high altitude. She then explained to us how to buy tickets online or through Tao Bao. China controls against scalp tickets and they scan your ID or use facial recognition to validate at the terminal gate to ensure you are the one who purchased the ticket. As we did not have local ID, no China wechat nor alipay, and not even Tao Bao account. Kiki was very helpful and just settled us down for afternoon tea whilst she would try to sort out how to get us the ticket. We just continue to communicate through wechat. Late at night she contacted me again and guided me through the upload of our photo for facial recognition. The next day we managed to get on the cable car and had a wonderful experience up on the mountain. She even wechat me throughout the day checking if everything went smooth.

The hotel has best views of the jade dragon snow mountain in Lijiang because it is right at the foot of the snow mountain. No other hotels are closer to the snow mountain than this one. Previously a Grand Hyatt, the decors of the rooms and common areas are very good. We had a executive suite which has an enourmous balcony spanning across bedroom, lounge living room and dinning room. The view from the balcony and from inside the room is probably the best I have in any hotels. Amenities are excellent top notch stuff. Apart from the common area and the restaurant being too cold (hardly any heating effect and the fire palce was never on), the hard ware live up to really luxurious standards. The hotel doesn't have a direct sale channel so people have to book through agencies which is a weired. This makes changing dates very difficult. And the fact that it used to be a Grand Hyatt but owner took back management in mid 2018 is also very confusing. staff at the hotel were very friendly. We originally booked 2 nights for 24, 25 of December, but we wanted to change the nights to 23, 24th. When I phoned the hotel on the night of the 22nd (on booking sites already passed the free change time by 24 hours) to ask if it is possible to move the bookiing one day forward if there are any avalability on the 23rd, the person answering the phone simply told me to contact the agent I booked the hotel with, if they can do it the hotel can do it too, he was neither friendly nor helpful. It turned out that they do have big availability on the 23rd and the agent managed to move the dates for us through back and forth with the hotel. This was the only unpleasant part regarding service I encountered. Other than that, all the staff at the hotel were very nice and helpful, especially the waitresses and waiters at the only restaurant. There are two bottles of oxygen in each room for free but they didn't seem to help with our altitude sickness which was so bad that we didn't make it to take the cable car to the top of the snow mountain. The breakfast was really good considering the difficulties of the location, they provided a wide range of western and Chinese selections. For dinners there are very limited western selections or Chinese (yak hot pot, althouguh the other Chinese guests seem to enjoy them). They made an effort to put together a Christmas dinner set menu as well as turkey and bacon dinner for everyone. Of course there are few things that can be tweaked to make it better. For example, there is only snacks between 5-6 pm tea time but other times if you are peckish and want to have something to nibble on there is no snacks like biscuits. Although after we checked out, the waitress at the restaurant did improvise to make some snacks out of left over breakfast stuff for us. There is no turn-down service. It might sound snobirish to "complian" about that but I think to achieve a real level of luxury, that is a must-have. The restaurant could have better inventories for western food, the only western food offered on the menu were not able to be delivered due to "lack of ingredients". If it is already a limited menu (like 2-3 western food), they should keep it available. I gave it a good because the environment, the view, the rooms, and the willingly helpful and nice staff makes up for the lack of finess.

I stayed at this place when it was still Grand Hyatt and there could be some changes since it seems like the management has been changed. Its hardware was excellent and the service was above par. However, the best thing about this hotel is its view and atmosphere. The view from the room (well…from anywhere at the hotel) was amazing and surreal. I will never forget the view. One thing you need to consider is that this hotel is located at high mountain and you can get mountain sickness due to lack of oxygen. When I went (which was almost 2 years ago), there was a bottled oxygen in the room and it was quite useful. Highly recommend this hotel to anyone who wants to experience a mountain lodge.

This is one of the most beautiful resort i have ever been to. Service is top notch from serving staff at the breakfast area, your buggy chauffeurs, to the on-duty manager, Galen. The view is breath-taking, the Sunrise scene is Not to be missed. The overall service quality, design & layout of the premise amongst all should have it classified as Park Hyatt instead, to my mind. The hotel's website has both Grand Hyatt Lijiang & Mountain Lodge bundled together though & so i thought they are sort-of nearby to each other but only with a different settings of rooms & Style & views. Hence I had myself booked 1 night at Lijiang and 3 nights at the Mountain Lodge.

A nice stay!! However I would recommend you to stay in hotels in the city or Kunming before moving up to the mountain lodge. For the first two nights, I did not enjoy my stay at all because of the altitude sickness. I couldn't sleep and felt sick... The food and beverage offerings need to be improved. Apart from the Yak Hot Pot, which is absolutely delicious, breakfast and lunch selections were so so. Service in general is below standard, although the staff is nice. More trainings required. The signage in the hotel is also lacking. There are quite a lot of space in the hotel which is not fully utilised. Suggest to offer some books and make a library for guests to enjoy leisure time.
