Tucked away on a quiet side street, yet only a few minutes’ walk away from one of Lijiang’s busiest pedestrian thoroughfares, Liman Wenzhi was the perfect spot to experience everything the ancient town had to offer. The hotel was modern, clean and comfortable and had a really calm air to it. Breakfast was just ok, but it did have a highlight, having Pu-er tea carefully brewed and served in the traditional way. Delicious. The staff were attentive and helped us with a transfer to the train station. The only very minor gripe was that we lost the plastic room card and were charged 30 Yuan, which felt a bit stingy, but otherwise a great stay.

We stayed at this hotel for 3 nights. The location of this hotel is excellent. There are many shops and restaurants nearby. The room is clean and spacious. A staff named Dara is very nice and super friendly. She showed us around and making us tea. It makes us feel like we were staying at a friend's house. We'll definitely stay there again next time we're in Lijiang.

Very friendly, hardworking and courteous staff. Rooms are clean and well equipped. The hospitality is second to none and the staff helped us with directions and personally took us around shopping and dining. The hotel is conveniently located in Old Town Lijiang and a fantastic place to walk around and shop. The hotel staff personally served tea and breakfast. Special thanks to Tiffany, Ou Yang, MK, Annie and Dara. This friendliest hotel I have ever stay in. Highly recommended.

The hotel is in the middle of Old Town which is what you imagine ancient China was like and now is a top tourist attraction with walkable cobblestones streets, restaurants, bars and shops. The hospitality in the hotel was magnificent. Tiffany and Ou Yang went out of their way to serve us tea in the traditional Chinese way which was like a performance each time , and took us to the best restaurants and shops. The rooms were comfortable and clean and modern. The hotel has been converted from a magistrates courtyard and still retain old style architecture with modern amenities. Stay here for a memorable experience.

A ridiculously stylish luxury boutique hotel owned by friends who will insist you drink tea with them every time you come back is how I'll describe it. Ouyang and Annie gave us unsolicited recommendations on where to eat, when to visit the 玉龙雪山, arranged for affordable car rental with driver, made sure we were comfortable, gave us face mist when we got sunburnt. They asked how our day went every time we walked in. Impeccable service like I've never experienced. The rooms make five star hotels look bad. And the reception makes it feel like home. It's off Wuyi street in Wenzhi alley so super centrally located in the 古城。

The hotel, also called "Lijiang Liman Wenzhi Hotel", is located at No. 1-6 Wenzhi Lane, a quiet and narrow alley which crosses the busy Wuyi Street at Lijiang old town area. This superb hotel looks pretty new and the building resembles a medieval Chinese villa. The rooms are very spacious, the bed has awesome mattress and fine linen. It has modern facilities like split aircon, a huge flat screen where you can plug your camera and review your recently taken photos, bathtub for two, mini bar, aromatic nebulizer and … fast internet! In a couple words, this hotel has a five stars Swiss hospitality standard in a very Chinese style in the heart of a Chinese medieval town. Staff is great and helpful. l record here my special thanks to Miaomiao who picked me and my wife up at night time when l was lost in a shop at the old town area before checking in, provided many tips about visiting Lijiang and was always ready to help while holding a pretty smile.

This hotel has it all - beautiful grounds, great modern rooms with all the amenities, charming English speaking staff, great location in the old town - quiet yet very close to
the action, and excellent price/quality ratio. Breakfast is only OK but this does not lower the otherwise perfect score

A well presented small hotel with a very friendly atmosphere in great location in a traditional courtyard style house. Our room was beautiful. The hotel staff in the main are very nice and some speak English. Outside you are in the middle of the old city with lots of shops and bars/restaurants nearby. Note the hotel is on a slope and would not be suitable for someone with walking difficulties. However we would definitely stay at this hotel again.

I've been to plenty of hotels in china both for business and leisure and this is the best hotel I've been to so far. I stayed in the hotel for 2 nights and the staff at the hotel picked us up from the old town city gates since taxis can't get into the old town area.
The ladies (Annie in particular) were very friendly and helpful. Helped us with everything from getting around town to getting to our next destination. Annie made us plenty of tea and even gave us a lesson on how to taste tea.
The room was clean and comfortable with plenty of space.
The breakfast selection is great and I loved the rice noodles served in the morning.
The location of the hotel is also amazing. Whilst being in the old town, it is slightly out of the way (but not inconvenient), making it nice and quiet.
Totally love the friendly atmosphere and helpful staff of Liman and would totally recommend Liman to friends and come back if I ever visit Lijiang again!

i chose this hotel after reading all the positive reviews on Tripadvisor and am very satisfied.
First time I'm staying in a local boutique hotel and I'm pleasantly surprised. Rooms are clean and comfortable with nice clean thick towels matching 5 star international hotels. The lobby is so homely and cosy. Each time we get back from sight seeing we feel like we have returned home. There's always a warm and friendly greeting and there's tea served and some snacks or fruits.
Special thanks to MK for seeing to all our transport needs and being able to speak Cantonese makes us feel very at home since we can't converse well in Mandarin.
Location is good. Away from the noise and hustle bustle of the main streets with a quiet and peaceful surroundings yet within a short walking distance to the main road and restaurants.
Breakfast is good too. There's a set menu to chose from and free flow of bread and cereals.
A very good experience and I highly recommend this hotel and will stay again if I come this way again.
