My girlfriend and I stayed here for 2 nights and wished we had more time here. The beds were comfortable and showers were sufficient with 24 hr hot water. The room itself had a comfortable feel with the wooden interior. The terrace on the 3rd floor had a view of the mountains and really relaxing. The staff was really friendly...

We stayed there in May 2012 in the top floor double room. These were 2 horrible nights. It was almost impossible to sleep because of the noise : the owner has a collection of birds that still sing at night. At 4 am the roaster awakes the whole neighbourhood. The room does not have proper curtains... You can easely be...

The Moonshine Inn is located in a quieter area of Dali, down a small alley way past a well. The location is actually a great asset because the centre of Dali can become very crowded and noisy with tourist groups. It does mean you need to walk about 15 minutes to get to where the action and most of the...

A jewel of a courtyard guesthouse away from the hustle and bustle of Dali. Quiet back street but only a few minutes walk from the center of the old city. The courtyard is an oasis of quiet, decorated with wonderful antiques. We stayed on the third flor and had a view of the mountains that rise to the west of...

I like the balcony seats so that I can sit outside and read. The family here is very friendly and I especially enjoy the company of their daft dog, Dan-dan. They can...

Beautiful small guesthouse built round a courtyard down a side alley but 10 minutes walk from centre. The owner speaks Some English and was very helpful advising on visits. They also keep good quality bikes that they hire at good rates. Only fault was the lack of privacy in the room when one of you is using the toilet. Made...

Dali is a very popular tourist town with both Chinese and foreigners. We found this place listed in the Lonely Planet and they were very helpful, as we'd moved our dates around a bit. The rooms were small but in very good condition and the standard of decor was very good. The Taxi driver from the bus station in the...
