First of all the hotel is rundown and old. The front desk called twice at 11pm to ask if we wanted "in room massages"... code for prostitution much? Did not appreciate that since we were asleep by then, and I'm not even sure why they did that cuz we were travelling as a couple. Not to mention they tried to...

This hotel was by its title meant to be grand and most probably was when it was built with a grand dream but I would guess it has gone down since as the dream was never fulfilled. Breakfast is adequate but you do feel you are in the staff quarters and rooms are tardy but it is centrally situated for...

Good hotel nothing too flash but it is a suitable option for a family traveling to Xinjiang and the price is reasonable. There is a fairly narrow selection at breakfast and not much help from the staff, but it was peak holiday season. Not to far to walk to the grape alley , outdoor market, supermarket and park.

I stayed there with a friend back in September. The hotel wasn't very clean, but was adequate. There was wireless in our room, but you had to pull the WiFi router off the wall to see the password. The location was good enough, but we just used it as a base to go see the flaming mountains and grape vineyards....

Good: not in the heart of town but Turpan is so small that all cabs from the hotel location cost about 5Y, and if you choose to walk the farthest you might need to do so is about 15 minutes to John Cafe...one of the nicer places to hang out for a beer and very expensive basic snack after a...

The Grand Turpan Hotel was pretty average for Xinjiang at its price point, as we quickly found out. We negotiated a price of 180 RMB/night, which was more expensive than anywhere else we had stayed in China. The room was a good size, the bathroom dusty and very old/cracked and not particularly clean. The air-conditioning worked well and there was...

the hotel has a nice lobby, we had a clean spacious room and decent breakfast with enough variety. Located next to a new man-made lake so quite a nice walk/run if you want one. Parking was ample. Would I stay there again - yes. Enough said :)!

This is another of the typical Chinese 3* hotels you find in the area. The rooms are not super smart, but they're clean and comfortable. The staff were helpful, and there's an outddor cafe/restaurant at the back which is beautifully shaded from the sun by grape vines...heavy with grapes when i visited in August. There are displays of Uighur dancing...

As my title says, this hotel is simply acceptable. At the price, however we were not dissapointed. The hotel was quiet, and clean. The carpet in our room needed to be replaced, and the showere was not the greatest, but after a long day of sight seeing it met our needs. Be prepared for China's hard beds. We have traveled...
