The room was twice as much as some that I have used just as nice. The glasses were dirty with finger and lip prints. We had to go to ground floor for luggage carriers. We also had to pay for parking. I would not recommend this hotel unless it was absolutely necessary.

Joe B, thanks for your comments regarding the hotel. I apologize that the room glasses weren't clean. That is unacceptable and has been shared with our housekeeping team. Parking at nearly any downtown location will have a cost. Ours is equal to or less than any other hotel property in downtown Birmingham but we didn't charge you for parking during...

My wife and I stayed at the Doubletree in Birmingham the 6-8 of May to attend a friend's daughter graduating from University of Alabama. First thing I have to say is the hotel is one of their older properties and has not been kept up near what a Hilton is known for. Our front desk experience was poor. The girl...

I made a quick trip to Birmingham to take my son to the doctor. Because we live out of town and the appointment was an early morning one, I booked this hotel last minute the day before. The pros: The parking garage is attached to the hotel so after checking in, we parked and were able to walk just a...

Nice property. Clean rooms. Thin walls and some street noise even on the 12th floor. Nice professional staff. We chose this for convenience to Princeton Hospital even though it is right next to UAB. It was a good choice.

I have used this hotel a couple times a year for the last twelve years. The staff always provide exceptional service. The food whether in the restaurant or in room dining is always very good with plentiful portions at a reasonable price. The beds are comfortable so I always have a restful sleep. Sometimes the chairs in the rooms I...

Room smelled of old stale towels the air unit did not work. It took them a HOUR to move us to another room, the rooms are old and for the price that we paid they DID NOT offer a microwave nor do they offer a refrigerator! The staff is friendly, but the hotel is crap!

Lance I, thank you for your comments on the hotel. Please feel free to contact me at the hotel and we will Make It Right for you. I was aware of the room move but not the length of time to enact it. It was surely less than adequate service on our part. Please give us another try the next...

The room is very comfortable, clean and pleasant. However, the hallway noise can be quite loud and disturbing. The breakfast buffet is boring and needs to be spiced up. Dinner and service is very good. The location of the hotel is also great for attending events at UAB.

Bill H, thank you for commenting of the DoubleTree in Birmingham. We have a great relationship with the adjacent UAB and host many overnight guests and functions for them. I apologize for the noise coming from the hallway. I wish we could have done something for whomever was causing the noise. I'll pass along the comments regarding the food &...

I was very happy with the digital check in. It was my first time using it. The staff was very helpful and offered us the cookies. Room was clean and fresh. The bed was very comfortable and we got a good night sleep. There were places to eat across from the hotel and other close areas. Overall all we had...

Rhonda M, thanks for all the kind words about the DoubleTree in Birmingham. If you liked Digital Check In, just wait to see what's next. In a few months, we (and a lot of other Hilton properties) will transition to Digital Key where you can select your room, check in on your computer or phone, and use your smart phone...

Jeff on the front desk went over and above what was required to assist me when my reservation was missing. Later I discovered that I really had not completed the online process. He was gracious, thorough and respectful. Great cookies!
