Comfortable hotel to visit the beautiful city of Chengde. It is at a walking distance from the main entrance of the city gardens. It is clean, it has free wifi and well located to the restaurants and main attracions. Good value for price.
We have done lots of search about hotels in here and were quite terrified before coming, mainly because many travelers wrote about dirty and cold places. This hotel was a nice surprise to us. First of all, stained carpets are the norms in China so get over it and just believe they are clean. In this hotel they were stained as sell, but oh well. We were prepared for worse. The beds were super comfortable and they had the best sheets ever. I even asked where they were getting them from because I wanted to buy them... They gave us some special plug to make the internet stronger and it was the best internet we had in the entire city. The stuff came and clean the room every day. It was not a new hotel, but it was well taken care of. Shower had a good pressure and we had a personal heat inside the room which was perfect if you stayed in cold months like we did. A hotel is just block away from a "fancy" street. But don't be afraid you explore small places. I hadn't liked Chinese food until I arrived here. Whenever we see a picture menu we come in an eat. Even in small local places where they don't have tourists. It is a great experience. The restaurant next door to the hotel is not good and I would not come back there again. I don't think the hotel takes Credit cards so you pay with cash, and also pay deposit with cash. They don't speak in English but you can manage to communicate as we did.…
the location might not be as prominent as it can be because it is not located along the main street. and worse of all, the locals doesnt seem to be aware of its location. the advice is, note down the chinese name of the hotel at least it helps somehow. along this street, there are many schools and road side street vendors selling local food, as well as a few small scale food stalls. few minutes walk to the xinhua road gives you more options with fast food. the hotel looks relatively new, the room was great for maybe the max 2 persons. bed is not soft but still comfortable. basic toiletries are provided. cleanliness is maintained, free wifi worked well. the only complaint that i had was the odour from the bathroom, but not affecting the overall room so is ok. the room was equipped with a heater unit apart from the ac. area around the hotel is quiet, even with the hotpot restaurant next door does not cause any disturbances. the hotel was manned by young friendly staffs. willing to assist though not too sure about the topo of the places. check in and check out was no hassle. overall, i would recommend this hotel to all travellers. is a clean and comfortable hotel.…
I stayed there with 3 other friends at the end of October. We spent two nights. We booked 2 twin rooms, which were very clean and comfortable, although a bit small. I booked through Agoda and the rate was very interesting (around 150 RMB / room) compared to those displayed in the hotel lobby (rates started from 400 or so which would be overpriced). The rooms are simple but fonctional, with TV (we did not watch it, only Chinese channels), a kettle, a small desk and a wooden stool. Two more square meters and a small armchair would've been nice for the evening gatherings ... But then again, we did not spend a lot of time in the room. beds were a bit firm but comfortable, with good quality bedding and fluffy pillows. The bathroom was simple but nice, and provided with toiletries and nice thick towels. One of the bathrooms had a funny smell one morning, but after living in China for twelve years, I know it happens even in the most recent and well maintained buildings, so ... The wifi connection was a bit slow but worked; I also noticed two computers for the guests in the lobby. We didn't try the hotel breakfast. I would recommend this hotel to people looking for a cheap yet comfortable and convenient option in Chengde. The area is nice and quiet. The main street is at walking distance, with several dinning options.…
Decent hotel, clean rooms, semi hard beds. Friendly staff, computer at reception for guests not very far from the city center. Kind of low budget rooms interior in the rooms, or rather simple. Did not try the breakfast so cannot comment on that. Not worth the 400RMB i paid.
