The location of the hotel is quite convenient to get the taxi. Its' main entrance not impress at all. The room is big. The front desk staffs not so helpful and unfriendly. The hotel will not help the guests to call the taxi to bus station or other places. They told us that we have to do it on our own.

Our standard double room is huge and even has a mahjong table. Its walking distant to eateries and supermarket and a short walk to the Summer Mountain Resort. After dinner, we went to the night market which is also a short distance walk about 10-15 mins away. Don't expect to find quality goods there but its a good experience to see the streets. Most shops close at about 7pm so besides the night market and food nothing much to do after sun down. Tip: We are a family of 4 with 2 friends and travelled on our own to Chengde from Beijing. We thought we made a good decision by getting a tour guide with a van for RM300 who bring us wherever we want, not those places you won't want to go! (1st day-about 1.30-6pm, 8.30-11.30) If we had been on our own we won't had been to so many places. The guide did a good job explaining history and events. Not sure if you can get English guides this way but ours is a Chinese guide.…

restaurant linens are filthy. food serving procedure is terrible. reception service is terrible. Front desk staffs sleep in front of the guests during late nights.

Although not much to look at from the outside, this property offers modern stylish rooms, very clean. Well located, just off the main square (actually a circle). Short walk to Mountain Resort (Summer Villa). If you are not a fan of Chinese breakfasts, you will be dissappointed.
