The Hidden Dragon Villa is very well located, outside the chaos of central Yangshuo but within cycling distance (about 1 hour cycle, the hotel has bikes available for rent). It's right beside the Yulong River where there is a cycle path and bamboo rafts for rent. The room was basic but with good aircon and shower and comfortable beds so perfectly comfortable. We felt it wasn't great value for money since the hotel put the price up to RMB600 after we had booked (apparently due to 'Golden Week') but at the normal rate of RMB400 it would have been fine. The staff were friendly and helpful, particularly with arranging transport which is something we have previously found difficult in China. Again, the transport was expensive but the driver was very good and the car was…

We recently stayed at the Hidden Dragon Villa for 4 nights and am glad we decided not to stay in Yangshuo itself, but out in the country at this villa. To get to Yangshuo we rode our bikes into town or took a taxi which cost $5 each way. Riding the bike was the best way to experience the area. Our room on the 3rd floor offered fantastic views of the karst landscape, rice paddies complete with water buffalo. The rooftop restaurant was really nice and we wound up eating several dinners there also which was not bad because we just didn't feel like going into Yangshuo. I really have to say that the staff at this hotel is excellent. The girls that run the place are courteous and very helpful. They offer you with welcoming drinks the first day plus a little gift. Very nice…

We stayed at this lovely hotel for 3 nights, and it was truly a great experience, we asked for the best room available and got a very nice queen-size bed room, with breathtaking views of the surrounding hills. The room was Chinese style decorated, with beautiful wall colors and wooden window frames, a modern-style shower and a comfy bed. The staff were very helpful and always responded to our needs. I wanted to surprise my partner and the hotel staff helped me with everything; including flowers, a private massage, music, wine and a romantic rooftop restaurant dinner. It's also a great starting point for exploring the surrounding attractions, close to moon hill and an easy 15 minutes bike ride to the more touristic area of Yangshuo (west street) The only two problems we…

Wonderful location, warm helpful welcoming staff, western and local dishes, good coffee. Rooms are ok, my shower was a tad moldy (shower was leaking so kept the bathroom moist). Had a fantastic stay all in all, just a shame that next-door they were renovation/reconstructing which started every morning at 8am. Hotel couldn't help it though, and it made me use the full extent of the day to explore the area! Would recommend it to anyone + would stay here again for sure!

Stayed there in December for three nights. Very helpfull staff in every way - always smilling and trying their best to help us. From tickets to shows to transportation, everything was arranged as we asked. The lobby's decor was impressive. Very nice roof top restaurant, with an amazing view, and both rooms were spacious, with very confortable beds.

After a long day of hot and humid travel we finally arrived at the Hidden Dragon Villa. We were at first nervous because it did not look how we had pictured it, but as we stepped out of the taxi, we were greeted by name by Irene. She showed us inside and sat us down with a cool wet towel and a cold glass of water. We were also presented with a gift. While we refreshed they had us finalize the information they needed and then they showed us to our room. Our room was nice and well decorated for the area. The mattress was very firm but common for the area. The room was clean and the staff kept it that way during our stay. The restaurant upstairs was very clean and the food was delicious and priced reasonably. The front desk staff speaks English very well and handles everything…

If you want a quiet, clean, and good service hotel, with a great view of Yangshuo mountains and paddy field, this is the place you want to be. The room is nice and clean, with heater that worked well to keep us sufficiently warm during the two chilly nights we were there. Bathroom has good supply of hot water, and cleaniness is quite decent. No complaint on the king size bed, although we would prefer a firmer pillow. We had two dinners and one breakfast at The Garden Rooftop Restaurant. Food was good, especially Chinese food which is not a surprise. We had Pork Spare Rib (RMB80 per set) for Xmas dinner which was perhaps the best that we ever had. Western soup and mash potato were so-so though. Did not really explore the surrounding as the weather was quite chilly....…

We stayed at Hidden Dragon Villa for 5 days as part of a 2 and a half week trip to China. It was by far the highlight - felt like a 5* hotel - really friendly and helpful service, fantastic food in the restaurant (best we had in China), beautiful location, clean and large rooms, loved the courtyard and traditional Chinese style furniture... we really can't say enough good things. Would agree with one of the other comments - that it is a total hidden gem.
