There were five of us - me, my wife, two of our grown up sons and my sister in law. We visted the hotel for four days after a very hectic week in Shanghai. It was the perfect wind-down; I don't think I have ever stayed in a more peaceful hotel with more charming staff. It's spotlessly clean, efficient and...

Excellent location near the Yulong River and close to walks / cycle routes. I'd certainly recommend staying away from Yulong town itself. The hotel is a collection of restored buildings which still retain their authentic charm. We stayed in the family suite at the back of the property which was a very quiet two level room with a small outdoor...

We stayed there four nights. All the family. Large family room. This place is unforgettable! Location is wonderful, staff is so nice - look for Rebbeca she is the best. Food in fun! We will be back. They also rent bikes and arrange bamboo trip. Sagi

We had the family suite for couple of days. It was too big for 2 poeple obviously:) but having our own private garden was really nice! Overall, Friendly staff, good food and lovely hotel! It is, however, a bit hidden not the easiest place to find.

Do not go to the hotels at Yangshuo, too commercial, to loud, sometimes dirty and even overpriced. Go out to real China go to Secret Garden Hotel, book rooms there, get your lunch and dinner there and spend your coffee time here. I will come definitely again over.

We've just returned from 5 nights at the Secret Garden and can't wait to go back. The buildings are all wonderfully restored with a rustic charm that matches the beauty of the surrounding Yangshuo countryside. We stayed in the 'Banyan Tree' family room with our two boys, aged 5 and 6. The room was perfect for us, with an upstairs...

Excellent for an experience of staying at old courtyard houses in a small village. Restored and refurbished old courtyard houses with lovely courtyard gardens; uneven paths leading to hotel and within; staircases; narrow door openings; comfortable air-conditioned rooms; hot and cold water dispenser; tea & coffee making facilities; small restaurant providing great meals; wifi available, very weak signal in the...

We didn't stay in the hotel but we came here for as meal in after rafting on the river and before setting off on bikes back to Yangshuo itself (Yes, it was 35 Celsius, and yes, it felt like 47 and yes we were probably mad but we enjoyed every second of it). The restaurant at the Secret Garden is...

Very nice andhidden paradise. Not really easy to find - but you will love it when you are there! Fantastic rooms - you feel there like some hundred years ago (but much more comfortable). Also the food is amazing - we loved it. Very friendly and helpful staff.

Located in Jiuxian Village about 8kms from the center of Yangshuo it is between dramatic karst hills & the beautiful Yulong River. It is one of a few villages to still contain a number of authentic Qing Dynasty grey brick houses. The owners toiled hard to restore it with great care and run a tight ship with various different-looking rooms...
