Valleluna is a great place to be for travellers who are looking for a place with homey feels. They provide you with first class inns . the owner Terry is a very hospitable person. The entire architecture of valleluna is beautiful. The room is wooden and very old fashioned style but preserves the old China's dynasty way of living ....

For the scenery alone surrounding this place I give it 5* . When we arrived to our guesthouse, at first I was taken aback. Not what I was expecting at all. but once got settled, rooms sorted etc. Realised the uniqueness of the place. Got off the bus in pouring rain to a group of people with umbrellas ready to...

We stayed here as part of our tour and I'm so pleased we did. The countryside was stunning. Even with a downpour this place is beautiful. Terry is a great host and really makes they stay plesant. From tea to evening meal he's on hand all of the time. The rooms are comfortable and unique. There is a fan, electricity,...

Terry, the owner of Valleluna is a pretty special person and has done a fantastic job saving a 200 year old village from tumbling down into obscurity. I have been to Yangshuo many times , and have always been charmed by the yellow brick peasant homes which compliment the stunning limestone karst landscape. In recent years I have been blown...

Stayed at Valleluna this past weekend and was blown away at the property. The rooms are simple but clean with so much character. While there is no air conditioning, the windows and fans kept the room relatively cool. The scenery around the place can't be beat with limestone rocks and rice fields all around you. Terry is the owner and...

Relaxing escape in the country. Quaint restored farm houses with huge rooms. Terry's hospitality was incredible, making us dessert which wasn't part of the menu and staying up late to make sure we had enough drinks. Terry's English was amazing and his dog Ding-Ding was the star of the show, keeping us all safe, he even took us on a...

We visited this remote village as part of a group tour. The accomodations are basic but clean & charming. Terry's hospitality was outstanding - he went out of his way to ensure we were comfortable, with all our needs taken care of. It was a nice escape from city life for a night, but make sure to bring lots of...

Host: Terry, great tales from his travels, and being a local was well versed in the history and culture and is a suberb cook, ask for Beer Fish! Location: a small village with a quiet road, majestic hills, water courses and farmland. Take a walk and discover the local caves, people and wildlife, or travel to other nearby attractions without...

One of our biggest highlight for the trip to Yangshuo. This place is really amazing, its out of the Yangshuo main town, but close to the orchards. Sitting at the dining place give you a feeling of going back to the old days. Our honour to get to know Terry and Xiao Jiang, they treat us like their very good...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Run away from the bustling packed West street of Yangshuo, follow the road, the flow of the river, see the elegant hills, the crisp clear water during the 16km trip to the little farming village Luoyue Wan ( the moon set bay). Located between the mountains and the cannel, about 100 families remain in this traditional village while most of the youth left their old home where they grew up with their parents and grandparents. They left the silence dimgrey roof tiles, aging earth colored walls, while the old man still smoke his bamboo water pipe by the door, simply watching the sun rise and set, watching the seasons come and go.The guest house is located at the north corner of the village, a landlord’s manor which dates back 200years since the Qing dynasty era. The wooden shrine and fort along with the houses and the land was assigned to 16 families during the revolution who’s descendants are still in the village. 15rooms are available for rent. Each has been renovated while maintaining the original look and feel. They were adapted into a guest house, not luxurious, not fashionable, it simply represents the famous Chinese poem“pick up eastern rose near my fence, carefree and content looking at the mountain to my south”Look far through the window, a farmer finishing his day, walking slowly behind his water buffalo and dog on the quiet road, steam and smoke rises from small kitchens. It’s twilight hour. The distance between the road and fields starts to blur, the mountain peaks melt into the star light. The local chatter and distant barks create a calming atmosphere. Time to feast! ... more   less
