You arrive by car in front of the main Hotel entry and you think: I will stay 4 days is a dream.

That dream soon disappeared due to complete inefficiency in hotel services.
Very low level of English among the reception staff at the front desk.
Very big rooms with nice decoration but very bad cleaning service and laundry service.
Normal breakfast for such level of Hotel, pretending to show its 4 start (or may be 5?) as a high standard accreditation.

I would not suggest this hotel to those people wishing to feel at home during a business trip in the few moments of relax.

Negative !!!

We were a bit wary about staying here as there weren’t many reviews and the price seemed too good to be true for what was described

However we were pleasantly surprised, more amazed actually - the hotel is pretty good and something of an experience in itself and at the price we paid great value. I am generally very picky about hotels but wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this one

The hotel is very large and decorated in a Las-Vegasy style with a huge atrium, lots of gilt and marble. The room was very large and clean and the bathroom was very good. The style is on the elaborate side to put it mildly but it’s all new and pretty comfortable. From the reviews we were expecting it to be empty but while it didn’t feel full it didn’t feel like we were in the Shining either

The location isn't great but it's not a big problem. It is some way outside town, between a ghost town of McMansions and another equally huge hotel on the other side. We didn’t see any signs of places to eat. However it only takes about 20 minutes to get into the centre of Huangshan by taxi though, and doesn’t cost much

Amazing hotel!! Looks like a Palace from the outside. Rooms are large and beautiful! Buffett breakfast was awesome so many choices. We ate dinner in the restaurant one evening which was good but pricey. We had a wonderful stay. It is quite a distance from anything but worth the drive. The hot spring pools were fabulous a blood pool a rose pool a fish pool and many others all theraputic pools--- so amazing. Included in the cost of the room. The pools were a huge highlight!

Interesting hotel, it is well equipped and looks lovely on the inside, but it is stuck in the front of what appears to be a ghost town about 25 mins drive from Yellow Mountain Town. The rooms are huge, comfortable beds, walk in robes, massive bathroom but the view is of the unfinished homes all around it. The breakfast room is nice and there was a good selection of both Western and Chinese food. It is a pity that the rest of the resort was not finished as there is potential for restaurants in front of the hotel but nothing looks finished. We did not get a chance to use the swimming pool but apparently it was really nice. There didn’t appear to be much chance of getting taxis so you would best to stay if you drive there.

This hotel is so grand where everyone in my tour group jaws dropped when we turned into it. The lobby is SUPER cold and drafty, as well as many other areas of the hotel seem deserted and dark.

The rooms are exceptionally big with a huge bathroom. The shower area was in a room that was connected to the tub, so it was like showering in a big room, it was pretty fun. My mother and I opt to spend the day at the hotel as the group was going on a optional tour. Us along with other tour group members who stayed back went for a walk around the area. It is so sad to see so many empty mansions in the area. It really is like a deserted town! Even outside of the hotel you can see the wear and tear and neglect on the building in this town.

There is a gas station not too far away but it did not have much in terms of food to eat. There were ladies selling strawberries on the side of the road, but they did not seem too interested in selling to us.

The pool was closed but we managed to have the pool attendant turn on the sauna in the women locker room.

During the day the hotel was like a ghost town, we really felt like we were the only guests there.

The breakfast buffet was good and had a variety of options, including sushi for breakfast. My mom did ask for a omelette and the lady ignored her. We also ate at the restaurant for dinner next to the lobby, it was so cold that they had to turn on the propane lantern by our table. Dinner took forever to make and bring out and they even had more limited options than what the menu provided. The customer service was lacking for sure, but the nice rooms made up for it.

Huang Shan is one of the most amazingly picturesque places I've been so I strongly recommend a visit to it. This hotel is a good 40 mins drive through hairpin turns to reach the cable car station. It is also far from restaurants and shops, the restaurant serves a good breakfast buffet but dinner was limited, as was the offerings from their bar. The staff was, however, exceptionally helpful and rooms are enormous and well appointed

I stayed at the HOJO Huangshan for more than 10 nights. This is defenatly not a 5* hotel. First, the hotel is absolutely empty, most of the staff doesnt speak english or barely for an AMERICAN hotel.... Then if you want to eat, you either have a chinese restaurant downstairs or the room servie. And if you want to order room service it wil take you around 10 min on the phone if you are lucky as they do not understand you and the breakfast.... well nothing good. Then on my last night while i was asleep someone came into my room, even if i had the do not disturb sign on. The heating wasn't working either so i had to change room. The walls are really thin so you can hear EVERYTHING in the room next door as well as in the corridor. The only good thing is that the room is really spacious. and the price, i managed to get the room for 298CNY.

Our stay was not great. We were on a tour through Intertrips. The hotel is beautiful out side but terrible inside. We were there for 2 nights. Inside the lobby, the temperature was 83 degrees F. Ditto for the dining room. I was lucky and had a room where the A/C worked but automatically turned off by management during the day and would go no lower than 21C at night. The room was medium clean with a decent bed 2 of my friends and the tour guide were in a room 2 nights with no A/C at all. When they complained, it was not fixed and they were given a small fan for which they were charged extra. Breakfast was in the hot dining room and the food ran out before everybody ate. Avoid, Avoid, Avoid, this dump. They must have paid people to write the good reviews.
