Bearing in mind this hotel is located further in, and the hike up is also further compared to two other hotels we passed by on the way up, the amenities are considered alright for a one night's stay. Do not bring heavy luggage as the rooms are located on floors accessible by staircase only. The surroundings are definitely great for a good hiking experience with beautiful sceneries of the cliffs. We had to close our windows curtains all the time as we didn't realise that the way the building is set up, there are also rooms directly opposite ours (we were on level 3) that is at window-level.

Despite it claims to be a hour star hotel, this hotel is the worst hotel of those four hotels we stayed in Huangshan Mountain. Maybe due to its remote location (or insufficient funding as one of clerks told us). Meal-wise, not the good as other locations. However, it’s only 50 meters away from Paiyun Pavilion. It’s aslo the starting point toward Guanmingding and the Xiehai Grand Canyon. Each room has a heater but does not have the hanger above it to dry your clothes. Overall, I would say it’s probably 2 to 2.5 star hotel instead.

The hotel was fine just for one night. We stayed at this hotel up on the mountain to spend more time there. It was fairly expensive but functional. Shower wasn’t very hot. The hotel was really close to the long taiping cable car which was a nice way down from the mountain. We ate dinner at a hotel just a short walk away because it had a better restaurant. Breakfast was good. A buffet. Expensive though.

My partner and I are staying at this hotel right now. We have a double room (4215). We arrived yesterday after a beautiful day spent hiking the mountain. At the front desk, they were not able to find our reservation so if you come here don't forget to print your booking confirmation! After a couple of minutes they finally found it. When we saw our room we were very disappointed. I mean, I know it's far but it is advertised as a 4 stars hotel and it's very expensive. Our room is very dirty, the carpet is horrible. The bathroom is full of molds and the smell is bad. I am allergic to dust and I had symptoms all night because of the old curtains right beside my bed. But I can do with all this. My biggest problem is the noise. We could hear our neighbors take their shower, talk, watch tv.... all the evening. And again this morning since 5 a.m. because people wake up early to see the sunrise. And here people come in big groups and are very loud!! Seems everybody loves to slam the doors very loud too. Anyway, if you really want to stay here, if you can afford it, maybe rent one of their suites, I assume it is better. Bring earplugs and sleeping tablets because even in a cleaner room the noise level is going to be the same. The bed and pillows are comfortable. Food at the restaurant is good. They say they have a bar but they don't, it's more like a lounge to drink tea. But they do sell beer and liquor at the restaurant. At the bottom of the mountain we stayed in a super good and comfortable hotel, with very friendly staff: Cheng Jin Hotel I hope this helps! I'm sorry for the bad review...

We stayed there for one night during our trip in Huang Shan mountains. Very nice location in the middle of the scenic area. Hotel rooms clean and in average standard, for breakfast typical Chinese food and conditions. At the reception we found very helpful and very good English speaking man. We recommend staying in that resort for one night and to go to see sun rise with tens of Chinese tourists.

This hotel is ideal location - a short trek to Bright Summit for sunrise. We just used this as a place to crash for a few hours of sleep and to dry wet clothes off! The dorm beds were not proper mattresses but they did the job and were comfortable enough for a few hours of sleep. The only negative I have is that the room was quite damp, but I guess that might be the case for all hotels due to the humidity up the mountain.

Myself and a friend booked a standard twin private at the hefty price of roughly €135 between the two of us. We realise that the mountain is an expensive place to stay however our room was dirty, had a strong smell of mould/damp and was freezing. Both of us slept in hoodies and tracksuit pants. On top of this our room had no actual window but instead a window that overlooked the corridor so anyone could look in? There were centipedes in our bathroom, the food the restaurant offered was ridiculously overpriced and tasted awful. Would not recommend whatsoever.

smooth check in, staff speaks limited English, rooms are okay, old fashioned, insolation is not so good but heater available and jackets. breakfast is Chinese buffet style (toast available) not too bad issues with the wifi that the staff couldn't solve, just telling us that our phones are the problem location was very good.

Most tourists do not take the time to visit the Yellow Mountains in Huangshan, China--but it is an incredible UNESCO World Heritage site and well worth the visit--and that is coming from someone who only saw rain their entire visit (I plan to go back). We stayed at the Paiyunlou Hotel, which is located within the Yellow Mountain park. If you want to make the most of your trip--ie if you would like to see the sunset, sunrise, and cloud sea--staying inside the park itself is imperative since traveling into the park proper takes a little bit of time. When you first arrive to the Yellow Mountains, you must take a 20 minute bus ride (19RMB each way) to the base of the mountain and then a 10 minute cableway ride (80RMB each way) up the mountain itself (or a 4 hour trek). Be forewarned--admission into the park is required before you can reach your hotel--230RMB a person for a 3 day admission. Once you reach the summit of the Yungu cableway, you must hike approximately 2km to reach the Paiyunlou Hotel--so luggage should be limited to a backpack! No rolling luggage here! Ok, now for a review of the hotel itself. Naturally, reviews are subjective and it depends on your personal preference and what you hope to get out of the experience. I will say that when I explore mountains, I am looking for hiking and adventure--and I don't expect a 5-star luxury experience since I only use my room to sleep and shower. I expect my room to be fairly clean, safe, and have basic amenities. In that sense, this resort delivers. The shower was clean and had hot water, the beds were decent--and not as hard as I was expecting from other reviews (especially since I have stayed in some China hotels with VERY hard beds). The room was by no means luxurious--there were stains on the carpets, smudges on the walls, and age spots on the cheap bathroom floor. Plus, the window doesn't look out onto a view--it looks out into a hallway. If you are looking for a Four Seasons resort experience, you will be disappointed. This is a solid 3-star hotel--and that is by rural China standards. Despite the lack of aesthetics, the room is relatively comfortable. But it is expensive. The resorts in the mountains are government-owned and since they are so remote, everything has to be carted up the mountain on the backs of locals (who you will see running past you--be sure to give them plenty of room!). The hotel has its own restaurant that serves traditional Chinese food--you won't find any burgers or western breakfasts. Lunch was very good, we enjoyed an egg dish and noodles. Dinner was ok. The breakfast buffet was underwhelming. Be aware that you are in rural China, so most people will not speak English, though I was pleasantly surprised that the staff did (minimally). We didn't need much while we were there, but the staff seemed friendly enough. Also note that the maps provided by the hotel are in Chinese, so you might do well to print one of your own ahead of time. Overall, the hotel was comfortable (enough) and provided what we needed. I am by no means a high maintenance traveler, so this room was adequate. If you are uncomfortable with less-than-stellar standards, there are a couple higher end hotels on the mountain. This isn't one of them. But if you are focused on hiking, and plan on spending minimal time in your room, then this does the trick. Enjoy your stay in the Yellow Mountains!

Staff with limited understanding of English. Dormitories with more beds than capacity. Very very hard beds. Expensive restaurant. They accept only online reservations. Even if they have rooms available, they will tell you they are full.... But if you go online, you will see lots of rooms available.
