Staff with limited understanding of English. Dormitories with more beds than capacity. Very very hard beds. Expensive restaurant. They accept only online reservations. Even if they have rooms available, they will tell you they are full.... But if you go online, you will see lots of rooms available.

We had a triple room on the 3rd floor. Spacious room with nice view of the flying-over-rock and Bright-top-peak in the distance. Very close to the Xihai Canyon, a big plus to us. Those were all the great points. There was no a/c in the room, so had to keep the window open. Could hear all the noise outside until...

Mt Huangshan, or Yellow Mountain, is a must visit for tourists. The scenery and walks are spectacular. The 8 seater gondola is the only access from the southern side and the Paiyunlou Hotel is the last of 7 hotels along the track - 2.2 kms along. This is a difficult walk up and down many steps as you have to...

Terrible double room: both windows look out on walks and stairs, next to the room an open door to outside ( people could walk in and out without somebody checking), stains on walks, floor and ceiling. No coffee at breakfast while they actualky have a coffeecorner at the hotel. Service was shouting at each other, gave us plates and cups...

Huangshan mountain (the "Yellow Mountain") is located inside a national park. This means all hotels on the mountain are government owned, resulting in poor quality hotels and accompanying hotel service. The room was not very clean or modern. The interior probably dates back to the eigthies. Airco or heating was something we failed to detect after our 3 days stay....

We also booked two dorm beds via CTrip for around 110RMB. The dorms are not mixed dorms, so when travelling as a couple, you will get two different dorms. The dorm rooms are in a lower area and are very very humid. Even though there was a dehumidifier in the room (which ran full blast all day and night), the...

Great location for sure, close to mountain back cable car, Xihai canyon start and sunrise view points. Food, service, amenities, linen are all very basic though at 5 stars price especially on Week End. Be ready to bear with large groups of excited visitors.

Reserved a room at Xihai Hotel on Ctrip but they transferred me to Paiyunlou as the former hotel was closed (this was mentioned only 2 days before I was supposed to check in, but I won't fault the hotel since this was by Ctrip). Do note that if you come from the Yungu Cable Car station, the hike will take...

There were very few (if any!!) affordable options to stay on Huangshan, however we managed to find a dorm room at Paiyunlou hotel for ¥105+ctrip fees per person. As they don't offer mixed dorms, we had to stay in separate rooms, which wasn't ideal but ok for a night. I was in a cramped room with seven beds and a...

Stay there one night for a two day visit of HuangShan, the location is great, at the center of all attractions. Room is clean, water kettle in the room. Coat is provided at no extra charge. Restaurant food is very expensive and quality is just so-so. Waitress is bit rude.
