I was there 5 nights with my couple. It's 15 minutes walking to downtown (Caracoles street). Quiet area. 1 mini-market in 100 meters. Standard hostal. Kind personnel treat. Breakfast included (bread, jam, cereals, juices, coffee) with the room. If you have early activities (before breakfast buffet is open), if you warn in advance, they prepair you a breakfast box (juice, yogurt,...

We stayed four nights in the Hostal Desert and were very happy with our lodging! So far (after 2 months travelling in South America) the cleanest hostal on our trip, nice and cozy rooms, very clean and well equipped kitchen, very friendly and helpful staff, nice breakfast. Great value!

I stayed here for a couple days over New Years. I booked online through Booking. I was coming from the Salt Flat tour in Bolivia, so I really appreciated a small, quiet, clean place with hot water. This place was just that, and it was perfect. It’s a bit outside of the main area, but it’s maybe a 10 minute...

Helpful staff despite no English. Room 9 was quite warm even when the window was open at night. We made use of the fan whenever we were in the room. Only half of the rooms had windows. Simple breakfast of bread and jam, juice, Nescafé, sliced meat and cheese, choice of cereal and fruit- sometimes canned other times fresh. They...

Stayed 1 night in single ensuite room (30usd). Everything impressed me. Everything is modern. Bathrooms are great. Wifi strong. Breakfast was 2x better than one would expect. Staff are lovely. Clean. Attention to detail is great. Its better to stay a little out of town (room prices are 2x or 3x the price for the equivalent in the centre) and...

San Pedro de Atacama is a very expensive town. When I found Hostal Desert with great reviews and reasonable price i didn't think twice. It turned out to be the perfect place to relax after 3 days of Salt Flats tour! The Hostel is located 10-15min away from the Centre of the town. No restaurants nearby, but there is a...
