Travellers' Choice
Hotel Cumbres San Pedro has changed the way to see and live the desert. A large citadel araises under the watchful eye of the Licancabur Volcano, by the chanar shadows and among the windind streams, perpetuating the simplicity of the indegenous people without neglecting the comfort offered by a luxury five star establishment. To experience it is the key; Cumbres San Pedro will take care of the rest.

We stayed for five nights and really enjoyed the perfect location of the hotel; away from the main town but close enough to walk (15-20minutes) or use the free, totally flexible, always available shuttle service provided by the hotel. We loved the spacious rooms and fantastic, natural stone outdoor shower. Given the large premises of the hotel, it is easy to stay safe during Covid times. They also provide EVERYTHING via WhatsApp that you can think of for a request, which is really great if you want to limit interaction. You can order any item for room service (at zero additional cost - no fees or charges at all for this during the pandemic). The staff was very friendly and accommodating of any request. We cannot remember a single "no" during our whole stay. Multiple pools, comfortable sunbeds - even though we were out on tours most of the time, we enjoyed coming back and relaxing in the hotel in between very much. Note that there is no Wifi in the rooms - annoying at first, but at least it means the Wifi in the super spacious lobby and restaurant area works reliable and fast. So we thought this is a better option than hotels with spotty wifi with no speed everywhere. Ultimately we think this is the only place we would want to stay when San Pedro is getting busy again, as it is so nicelyjust out of town and has a great value-for-money relation.

I loved this hotel due I wanted to spend my nights far from the lights of downtown and in that way practice a lot of the astrophotography I'd learned in my astrophoto tour. The hotel is pretty big, with a beaufitul access filled by cactus and the rooms are quite good. Its expensive but its worth

Amazing hotel, not cheap, with amazing rooms and public areas like the pool, spa, bar, and more. I love the big area the hotel offer and the conection with the nature. Its far from town but they offer scheduled pick up and drop off with their cars.

Despite growing uncertainty at the start of the Covid-19 crisis, the staff were unceasingly professional, friendly and welcoming. The grounds & ambience were soul-uplifting, and the room a well-designed haven. Thank you to all.

Usually i don't ever leave bad reviews. however as the booking experience and follow up before and after my stay was so incredibly bad, i will make an exception and write a bad review. My stay was ok, friendly and helpful staff at front desk, pool, breakfast and spa, very nice hotel and room, but then i think for almost 400 USD a night, this is not extraordinary or anything special. I booked online at the Cumbers Website, never got a confirmation, wrote several emails, had friends the live in Chile call there to make sure there is a reservations when i actually arrive there. never got the promised email or phone with a confirmation. After leaving i wrote the manager a mail with my experience and asked a question. Victor answered, pretended not to have understood my questions, asked me to write again - to never answer again after i sent another email. So, bad experience. Any guest house in the middle of LakeTiticaca with a daily rate of 50USD has better customer service. I would love to hear from the owner of the Cumbers Hotel. I hope the hotel will not reply to this with some sort of B.S. answer that they are grateful for me feedback :)
