20 min walk from waterfront. Beautiful garden and good breakfast. Very helpful staff. Rooms are OK, $30 for two persons, no double beds but large single beds which you can move towards each other if needed. A bit hard mattress but we slept well. Good laundry service. Main street is around the corner with many restaurants.

We really enjoyed our stay mainly because of the very friendly and helpful team who speak English and are on hand to answer any questions and help with requests for example they arranged a tuk tuk for us to the vineyard as I can't ride a push bike. Would recommend.

I found this guesthouse in the Lonely Planet and spent 3 nights here. Lovely and very helpful staff. They responded very quickly, helped with our bus, our boat tour, recommended a trekking agency and a great cooking class. They have a nice simple breakfast with eggs, pancakes, fruits and toasts. Rooms are simple but clean and relatively spacious. The guesthouse...

We stayed at the guesthouse, on a very busy weekend (Taunggyi festival in November) and paid 30$ for a double room, which is good value for the area. The staff was super helpful, polite and always available for anything - thanks to Min, at the reception, I managed to book a bus ticket last minute as he even drove me...

Lovely clean guesthouse with a beautiful garden surrounding. Situated close to town down a quite side road. Rooms are large and clean and towels, water and breakfast are all complimentary. Wi-Fi was good for Burmese standards. Staff were exceptionally helpful and have very good English. Would highly recommend. We paid 15,000 kyat each and it was very responsible.

Very good. Stay there in low season. I was the only guest. My room window door cannot be closed all the way..It make me almost concern my safety since I am the only guest. Other than that it is almost perfect for the price.

I spent 3 nights here having booked directly by email having read the entry in the Lonely Planet guide (2014 edition). Throughout, their communication with me was 1st class and on arrival I was made to feel most welcome. This is a budget location and offers exceptional value. My room was more than adequate, with a good hot shower, a...

We spent two nights in this guesthouse and had a really nice stay. Location is perfect, staff is extremely friendly and helpful, breakfast (esp. pancakes!) in the nice garden is tasty and the rooms are decent (even though quite thin walls). We also rented bikes from the guesthouse and booked an amazing boot trip through the Inle lake (totally recommended!!)...

After a tiring trip from Bagan, this place was god-sent. The room was basic, as you would expect for a backpacker accommodation, but very clean, comfortable and charming, with it's wooden decor and mood lighting. May Guesthouse is strategically situated near the centre of Nyaung Shwe, which is just a stone's throw away from restaurants and Mingalar market. Bike rentals...
