While I don't have much to add to what other travellers comment on this hotel, I would like to warn others from the hotel owner, who cheated me twice. Firstly, he offered his services to book a plane to Sittwe and made me pay 140 USD for it in advance. The ticked proved to have actually been paid 94 USD...

I only stayed for one night and paid 7 dollars so it was OK. Plus: it's cheap and centrally located. You get towels, soap and toothbrush with toothpaste. Service is good. Mosquito nets on windows. Free wifi Minus: it's not very clean and the rooms are in need of renovation. I picked a room with a working shower with warm...

So filthy I didn't dare shower. Very pleased to leave. Stayed one night and tried not to touch anything - it's pretty minging. The only saving grace was a sort of roof terrace where we played cards - so you weren't restricted to the room. I wouldn't recommend however unless you intend to spend big bucks on the hotels further...

The central location is fab, if a bit noisy, although the same could said for the owners shirt. The hostel was a little crap, but for $6 a night, who cares. There was no hot water or ac. But staff were nice and helpful enough, for one night, it was absolutely fine.

Friendly helpful staff. Some of them speak english. Our $20 double room was not very clean but came equipped with powerful AC, fridge and inside bathroom (hot water didn't work). Bago is a noisy busy city and so are the rooms facing the main street. Wi-Fi wasn't that powerful in the front desk and totally out of reach inside the...

As it is located right at Bago's loud and dusty main road, the noise from the street would make it hard to get some sleep in the "Emperor Hotel" anyway. But the most annoying noise was coming from the air condition: every two minutes, it seemed like it would explode. Then it completely stopped, restarted... and then the same thing...

The location on the main road is quite noisy. Rooms are very basic. Nice views from the roof top terrace. There is a mosque right behind the hotel, so beware of which room you pick if you are sensitive to noise ;-)

20.000 kyat for a double room with bathroom, that's the best price we found walking around Bago (main street and where all accommodation are located). Staff very polite and good position. No wife available.

We stayed here for two nights in August 2014. It was two nights too long. We had read in the guide books that Bago was not a bad place to stop over post-Yangon, and we wanted to go see Golden Rock, so we were planning on staying in Bago for a night, doing a day trip to Golden Rock, then...

“It is very noisy because it is on the Main Street in town where all the action takes place. You might want to ask for a room on the 3rd or 4th floor and on the back, they tend to be less noisy”
