Casa Beleza is in a hip location in Rio, Santa Teresa, with cute bars and vintage shops. Unfortunately the infamous tram wasn't working when we stayed but we were able to find ourselves around pretty easy on foot, taxi and bus. Bindu was an excellent host and was able to fix us up tones with taxis, a stunning resturant for...

Ola! Thanks so much for your kind review, it was great celebrating your birthday here at Casa Beleza! I appreciate your feedback about the breakfast, I'm going to move the breakfast table so it is not right outside the window of the room - thanks for the tip! Hope to see you back here in Rio one day! Stayed at Casa Beleza in November 2011 - Bindu was the perfect host and made us feel totally at home as well as giving us daily recommendations of things to see and do in Rio. The rooms and gardens are beautiful and provided a perfect quiet retreat from the City. We stayed in the Bungalow room initially which was a...

We stayed here for 3 nights in early January. Note that we had the bungalow which is up some steep stairs but a beautiful, romantic room with a great view. You can easily forget you are in a large city here. Santa Theresa is a small area but with some great little restaurants. We did spend some time in Copacabana...

My wife, daughter and I stayed for a few days at this most charming Casa in Santa Teresa, departing on Christmas Eve 2011. We have travelled to many corners of the world and stayed at some very lovely Hotels and B & B's but Casa Beleza and it's attentive owner really do come out TOP's. Don't expect Air-Con as I...

We stayed at Casa beleza for 5 days in December and absolutely loved it. The place is great. Big and clean rooms. Quiet and very familiar with only 4 rooms on the premises. Bindu was a fantastic hostess and helped in everything from tips to taxis and table reservations. Great breakfast too. We also loved Santa Teresa and having Bar...

My friend and I stayed in the upper suite. The set up was nice - 2 Queen sized beds, in room bathroom. The breakfast was amazing with plenty of variety. My friend is vegetarian and so they made it a point to have a good veggie protein option for her everyday. The grounds were very nice and relaxing. The provided...

We really enjoyed staying at Casa Beleza and the Santa Teresa area which is away from the hustle and bustle of the larger beach side hotels. Bindu was very helpful suggesting sights to see, restaurants/bars to eat at, arranging for taxis and giving us other helpful information. Lovely pool to relax by and wonderful breakfasts! Love their pet turtles! They...

Our first stop in Brazil was Rio. Bindu made us feel right at home. We stayed upstairs in the loft suite and everything was wonderful. The Brazilian breakfast was the best with wonderful fruits, breads, cheese and freshly prepared eggs. It was served on the patio, a lovely quiet setting. Bindu gave us many tips for our sightseeing and dining...

We enjoyed our stay very much. The service was friendly and the rooms where clean and spacious. We stayed in the blue room and had a HUGE private bathroom. Hot water and beautifully decorated - as the rest of the house and garden. The personal touch to everything made a difference. We would love to return if we ever come...

The place was perfect for us, away from the beaches and with several very good restaurants just a short walk down the street. Bindu took good care of us, helping arrange taxis and suggesting guides. The breakfasts were fresh and good and relaxing. The bonde train was still not working when we were there, so transport into the center of...

Staying in Santa Teresa

Neighbourhood Profile
Santa Teresa
Santa Teresa is a bohemian enclave hosting many local artists’ studios. The narrow, winding streets of this neighbourhood were revitalised years ago, and visitors can now stroll through this area to view magnificent mansions dating back to the late 19th and early 20th century. A highlight not miss: Museu Chacará do Céu, a former mansion turned museum which houses works by prominent Brazilian modern artists.
