First, so I am very clear, you must be crazy to stay in this place. We booked this hotel based on location, thinking it close to both Copacabana and Ipanema. When we went to check in, the lobby smelled of urine. We were taken to our room, little more than a closet with A/C that did not work correctly, and...

Although the location is good, it is not worth it to stay here. The staff is rude and charged me an extra "tax" that wasn't included when I booked with Hotels.com, when hotels.com told me ALL taxes and fees were included. They clearly scammed me and treated us like we didn't know what we were talking about. The place badly...

Just two blocks away from either Copacabana or Ipanema beach. The staff is really ophelpfull and nice. The breakfast bouffet on the top floor, has a wide virety of fruits, juices, pastries, breads and youghurts. Don't forget to try the delicious açai ! Rooms are small, but comfortable and clean.

We needed a day room since our flight out of Rio was not until 11pm. I booked the room online for a very nice price. We dropped off our luggage at the desk around noon and spent the day at the beach since the room would not be ready until 2pm. We were pleasantly surprised by the staff after reading...

Stained bed spread, non working air conditioning, constant construction, (think granite drilling on the other side of our room). This hotel should be shut down and remodeled. The woman at the front desk, said "of course its being remodeled" right, but they need to close down first adn not have guests stay at a construction site. I checked out early...

Yes a great location on Rua Francisco Otoviano which links Ipanema and Cocacabana Beaches – but as the others say there's location, location and then there's this little horror show. If there is a Rio hotel inspectorate they ain't been here. The place needs pulling down or at least completely refurbishing. I doubt it's ever seen crystal (or cristal) and...

All previous reviews are correct. Seems like nobody from the stuff really care about customers. It's only surviving due it's position between Copacabana and Ipanema and low prices compare to other hotels in this area. If you don't want to spoil you holiday and your budget is not very tight, stay in other hotels. Try to avoid this one. About...

Staying in Copacabana

Neighbourhood Profile
Copacabana
The rowdy Copacabana is one of the most traditional and old areas from Rio de Janeiro. This neighbourhood is a blend of Brazilian soul - crowded, rowdy and traditional. This neighbourhood has a bit of everything: bars with music, pubs, street fairs, chaotic streets, and many shops. All these things and more live side-by-side. There are options for all price points and tastes. However, the most powerful draw in Copacabana is still the fantastic view of the coast and the incredible beaches.

“Don't get a superior room. They have a long and ridiculously wide hallway (that is what you are paying for). The WIFI strength suffers as a result. Also, you are at the front of the building, which can be loud (a lot of noise comes through the air conditioner from the street).”
