Stayed here twice with my family and it's absolutely perfect. A decent breakfast served (nothing too fancy), lovely cozy room and extremely friendly staff. The location is perfect as it's just a stone throw away from everything. Definitely heading back here on our next visit to Brazil.

I was in this hotel only for one pleasant night. The room was a little hot, but the AC worked fine. The king-size bed was very comfortable and clean. The staff was friendly and breakfast was simple - not a large variety of juice, coffee, bread, butter, ham, cheese and fruit - but also good. Santa Clara Hotel is located...

We have stayed at Hotel Santa Clara twice now, both times during peak visitation periods when hotels were hard to find (New Years and Carnaval). Surprisingly economical, this hotel has a B&B feel to it, with friendly smiling staff that are willing to help you any way they can. It is in a great location (walking distance to Copacabana Beach...

Great little budget hotel. Comfy beds, quiet location but can pretty much walk to everything you need- restaurents, shops and the beautiful Cocacobana beach. Staff are very helpful and friendly and breakfast is delicious with lots of fresh fruit. Only problem is the very bright ceiling light and strange little plug sockets but this is just a small thing. We...

My partner and I stayed here and were given a triple room. The room was large and very spacious with a comfortable double and single bed. There was no safe in our room however there was a separate walk-in cupboard which you could lock which made us feel more comfortable about our valuables. The owner/manager was really friendly and spent...

The hotel was nice. The older gentleman man and the guy durning the night were always very positive and welcoming. The gentlemen in the day time no so much. They were always too busy to help you, as if you were bothering them. *Big Security problem: They will give you any key to whatever room number you ask for because...

The hotel is situated in a backstreet. That means taxis and tour companies have a hard time finding it. The staff in the reception have a hard time speaking English and has caused some minor problems for me. The blankets in the room are just thin sheets (probably very good in summer), but in wintertime I had to use two...

We spent 3 nights in this quiet hotel in Copacabana: standard rooms still comfortable, really polite and helpful staff, nice breakfast made our stay a good experience. Location is about 10-15 min walk from the beach and you can find a metro station 5 min away. In general, if you want to visit the city instead of laying at the...

Simple place to stay. The beds are old and no so soft, but it is clean. The price is good, nice location on a quiet region of Copacabana. Breakfast is ok too. It feels like a hotel from the seventies.

We had a 3 night stay in May as part of a Chimu Adventures tour and found this hotel to be exactly the type we wanted. It is a small friendly, good hotel located in a quiet, safe neighborhood behind all the high rise towers in Copacabana and it was an easy walk to the beach, restaurants and the metro....

Staying in Copacabana

Neighbourhood Profile
Copacabana
The rowdy Copacabana is one of the most traditional and old areas from Rio de Janeiro. This neighbourhood is a blend of Brazilian soul - crowded, rowdy and traditional. This neighbourhood has a bit of everything: bars with music, pubs, street fairs, chaotic streets, and many shops. All these things and more live side-by-side. There are options for all price points and tastes. However, the most powerful draw in Copacabana is still the fantastic view of the coast and the incredible beaches.
