Spacious room on sixth floor was comfortable enough but colleagues on level five stayed in what were old 'love hotel' rooms and were displeased. Bed was hard and door knob to bathroom fell off, which gives an indication that this is not an up-market and modern hotel. Street noise was a problem at night/early morning from the bar opposite. The...

What I can say? beside that, like in much of places in Rio, nobody speaks english or other languages so best for you if you know Portuguese or you are good in body language , the real problem is that the hotel is something coming directly from 70's without any change, old stuff that will make you do a memory...

What's good: 1. Located close (5 mins walk) to Gloria Metro Station 2. Lots of food outlets outside of hotel 3. Room is comfortable but have seen better days 4. Breakfast is okay 5. Easy to catch a taxi 6. Convenient laundry service- same day What's bad 1. Wi-Fi in room intermittent 2. You can hear people partying at the...

Stayed during the world cup period and it was the most expensive for our three weeks travel throughout Brazil. Best thing abt the hotel is that the room was spacious with big toilets, and the location was good, just two min away from Gloria metro station. Well located in a safe area. There are many food options and markets on...

Stayed here during the 2014 World Cup. Waited a while to check in but reception were apologetic and offered us a drink. Rooms looked fantastic and both bedroom and bathroom clean on arrival. Breakfast was ok. Metro 2 minute walk away. Ideal.

The hotel is very well located, near the metro station Gloria. Near some of the tourist attraction in Rio. Breakfast is also very good. Hot water is not working in the bathroom. The room look like a "motel"(place that we go just for sex. There are mirrow almost everywhere I just miss on the ceiling.

The rooms are big and clean. A fridge and a flat screen TV are available. The breakfast buffet is really great and the location is quite OK (2 minutes walk to the subway, which brings you to the beach and to the city center). Walking to the city center is possible (20min). The negative point (unfortunately for all hotels in...

Just another expensive and crappy hotel in Rio. Rooms are quite big but not very clean. Towels had a bad smell. Bad frontdesk service. Expensive and poor restaurant. Location is far from beautiful but doesn't have prostitutes on the sidewalk as in Copacabana. USD 200,00 per day can afford a better place almost anywhere, but not in Rio. Useful only...

Although the rooms felt like I should have been in a bordhelo, the location in Gloria was great. An easy walk to Centro and Flame go Beach-close to all transport forms. Should have ditched Copacabana earlier and stayed another night here

The stay at Magic Palace in Gloria was terrific. Wonderful breakfast buffet and close proximity to the metro and buses to the locations of importance - Corcovado, Sugar Loaf Mountain and the beaches. Great exchange place (safe and a great rate) for dollars at the Galleria in Largo de Machado area. Very safe in Gloria at night.
