The location is very good, only 2 blocks away from the capacabana beach! The staff was helpful and the breakfast is very good. However they overcharge you for the trips that you book in the reception place. A football game which is worth 50 reals on the ticket, was charged 200 reals. the room is clean, but hasn't reached a...

The hotel is located in a very good place near the beach, just 3 blocks away. Everything was great including the breakfast and the room. A couple blocks away there is a metro station and many bus stations. The only thing is that the wifi was terrible. It didn't work on my rooms floor and in the lobby was very...

We stayed here for two weeks as a family as it was one of the few hotels that accommodated our 2 small children. By North American Standards I would say it is a strong 3.5 stars. The staff is very helpful particularly Junior at the front desk. Breakfast is actually quite good and offers a large selection of hot and...

The ROYAL RIO PALACE HOTEL seems to be a nice place to stay, but over the years this place has gotten bad evaluations from me and all my friends. The receptionists are not friendly, they don´t ask the guests preferences, They drive the guests to expensive services ( tours and taxis ), the bedrooms are roomy, but some bathrooms has...

Well situated hotel 2 blocks back from the beach, great pool on the roof, with views to the beach. All the staff really helpful. The breakfast is a good introduction to the reluctant Englishman. The rooms are comfortable and well appointed.

Spent a long weekend in Rio with my wife and 2 kids. Most of the hotels in Rio (Copacabana nor Ipanema) does not allowed 2 crianças (kids in portuguese) in the same room; that's why I decided to choose this hotel. We arrived early in the morning, 4 hrs prior to the check in time, but the staff was friendly...

The Royal Rio is well located in Copa - near the beach and a block from a metro stop. The staff is helpful and friendly (thanks Vinny!) but the place does feel a little dated. The rooms are spacious and incredibly clean, but they feel a little barren and worn out. The pool on the roof is really small, though...

Staying in Copacabana

Neighbourhood Profile
Copacabana
The rowdy Copacabana is one of the most traditional and old areas from Rio de Janeiro. This neighbourhood is a blend of Brazilian soul - crowded, rowdy and traditional. This neighbourhood has a bit of everything: bars with music, pubs, street fairs, chaotic streets, and many shops. All these things and more live side-by-side. There are options for all price points and tastes. However, the most powerful draw in Copacabana is still the fantastic view of the coast and the incredible beaches.
