Stayed with my wife and young kids (9 & 6 yrs). Room was large, clean and comfortable, a bit outdated though. Great location: close to beach and restaurants (though the name says Copacabana its in Leme bordering Copacabana). Staff was very helpful and a few of them had decent English. Breakfast was good. A bit pricy but then it´s Rio.

What a location! Stayed in Acapulco Copacabana Hotel for 3 nights. Only the price £120 a night made me leave the place. The rest was great. Location top spot. Breakfast excellent. Staff very helpful. The rooms are maybe not the European standard of 4 stars, however they are kept clean and comfortable. I didn't spend lots of time in my...

First, I have to say I stayed at Acapulco Copacabana several times a few years ago and really enjoyed it. It is clean, just across the street from the beach, and the front desk staff is very helpful. However, this time when I tried to make a reservation they sent me a form to fill out. The form asked for...

We were pleasantly surprised by the cleanliness and quality of this hotel. We stayed for two nights and loved the convenient location. The breakfast and the wifi connection were also great. We looked around for ages for an affordable decent hotel in Rio and were glad we chose this one!

Stayed for 3 days in Acapulco, and loved the experience. Agree with some of the others that advance payment method is cumbersome and they should change that. Apart from that, just a stone's throw from the beach, with very helpful staff. The gentleman at the reception gave me very good tips on where all to go and which time of...

I didn't actually get to stay here as the booking process foundered. Unable to make the payment securely through the website, I asked for help. They don't use Paypal and I was told to complete an attached insecure form with Credit Card details and send photocopies of both sides of the card. I said we called this cloning and they...

Having experienced modest quality hotels on Copacabana beach at inflated prices, this one was a real gem. Located 1 block (50 metres) back from the beach at the Leme end of Copacabana, it is close to restaurants, transport links etc. We had a huge room inc 'living' area, with 2 huge TV's. Bathroom was massive with a seperate large 'wet...

This is a real nice hotel. They gave us a big bedroom, with a balcony facing the street. This hotel is one block away from the beach, so you can walk with your towel and enjoy the waves of Rio.! There are stores and restaurants nearby. The Rio do Sul Mall is also very close. They have a very friendly...

I have traveled to Rio many times and after many negative experiences with overly priced, dingy hotels, I was delighted when I found Acapulco Copacabana. This is by no means a luxurious hotel, it is a basic hotel with friendly staff in a great location. It is located in Leme, which is the very start of Copacabana beach. It is...

The room we obtained was extremely bad - very old style, old furnature, unpleasant at all. We had to wait 30 min for our room although we arrived late. The front desk personnel not friendly. Although we reserved a room for 4 nights, we left after the first night. Good breakfast though.

Staying in Copacabana

Neighbourhood Profile
Copacabana
The rowdy Copacabana is one of the most traditional and old areas from Rio de Janeiro. This neighbourhood is a blend of Brazilian soul - crowded, rowdy and traditional. This neighbourhood has a bit of everything: bars with music, pubs, street fairs, chaotic streets, and many shops. All these things and more live side-by-side. There are options for all price points and tastes. However, the most powerful draw in Copacabana is still the fantastic view of the coast and the incredible beaches.
