The hotel is very expensive compared against the quality that offers, the swim pool is a joke, the gym is old, it s far from beach maybe the unique remarkable thing is the breakfast and i say maybe because you can get tired of the same food everyday. I don t recommend to go there sincerelly

Not good. Very run down rooms. Part of the laminate flooring was missing, lots of mould in the bathroom and I reckon the fridge was older than me! We were only there for one night on our way to Ilha grande. The breakfast area and reception were 3 or 4 star. The room was 2 star at best.

Very satisfied with our October 2016, 7 night stay. Great location to the famous Copacabana beach. Hotel staff spoke well English and were very helpful. The breakfast was really awesome with a lot of variety for each day. I would definitely recommend a stay here!

Stayed here for around two weeks during the Olympics and it did the job. Breakfast was varied, wifi decent and the staff friendly. The hotel is in need of some TLC, though, and the walls were paper-thin - you can hear every word of what someone is saying next door. Decent location a few blocks back from the Copacabana and...

I was very satisfied with my 3-night stay at this hotel. Great location and good price. Staff was all very friendly and helpful. We ordered room service a couple of times (sandwiches) effective, and cheap. My favorite part was the breakfast, large buffet variety!

This is supposedly a 3 star hotel in Rio. While it was clean, the rooms were tiny, there was a noticeable gap between the ac unit and the outer wall (to the point sunlight was streaming in), and the location isn't the best. The elevator squeaking could be heard no matter which room you have. The staff was pleasant enough,...

Spent 5 nights in the Majestic for the Olympics. Ideal hotel in a great location - 5 minute easy walk to Copacabana beach and 3 minutes walk to the Metro. Although the room was small, it was clean, beds were comfortable and the shower was great. The only slight moan about the room was the noisy aircon! Breakfast was fantastic...

On arrival we checked in. Very little interest in us...more interest in what was going on in the Olympics on the telly. The young man.... the concierge was very very helpful and showed us to our room. Room very basic but bed was comfortable. Bathroom very dated. There was a constant sound of running water from the ceiling in the...

Had a very large room - two large double beds which were both very comfy. No view at all from the window (straight onto another blank grey wall) but never mind. Air con very efficient and not too noisy. Room seemed fairly modern and was clean and comfy. Wifi fast and easy to connect to. Breakfast was great - lots...

The Majestic Hotel has excellent customer service and a very personalized front desk staff especially the manager Mario. Mario gave us stellar advise on local restaurants and places to go for a drink. The rooms were clean and the hotel was in a very quiet residential area. I would recommend this delightful hotel to anyone who wants to stay in...

Staying in Copacabana

Neighbourhood Profile
Copacabana
The rowdy Copacabana is one of the most traditional and old areas from Rio de Janeiro. This neighbourhood is a blend of Brazilian soul - crowded, rowdy and traditional. This neighbourhood has a bit of everything: bars with music, pubs, street fairs, chaotic streets, and many shops. All these things and more live side-by-side. There are options for all price points and tastes. However, the most powerful draw in Copacabana is still the fantastic view of the coast and the incredible beaches.
