This was a great location. Close to the beach (they say don't swim in the bay, but it's nice to walk by), close to the metro, close to the grocery store, close to a few decent restaurants. Probably a 30 minute walk to the Lapa neighborhood. We were able to check in early.

I had booked this hotel for a longer period because of its overall “Fantastic” rating at online agencies. This was a huge mistake! The only thing “fantastic” with this hotel was the huge variety of fresh tropical fruits for breakfast. Other positive aspects were the relatively

Thank you for your review Unfortunelly, facts were not like described. First of all, you were the only person complainning about cool - sorry but we can´t turn off air conditionning where several persons were in a hot city like Rio Because of one single person. And all guests in shorts & flip flops - no complains - except you. television on news are common in Brazil - and guests also ask to turn on it. yes, we do have rooms with balconies or views - but your reservation was for a standard room and those do not have view. We must say that you checked at least 05 rooms to choose in which room would you stay. yes, we have amenities in the room but like many other hotels around the world, there is a message to ask for more when needed . And coffe maker is not available in three stars hotels. It is not true that in all hotels in Rio breakfast is served until 10;30 - almost all hotels have breakfast until 10:00 & in week-ends & hollidays we sereve it until 10:30 . You also could ask for eggs the way you like them & on the tables are sugar & salt - maybe you did not noticed despite you stayed almost one month with us. Hope this could clarify facts but if you want, you can contact hotel.

The price that"s advertised for hotel is it u.s. dollars or is it real.
Without knowing what price you are seeing, I cannot really answer you question. In September 2015, I paid about 240 Brazilian Reals, which was equivalent to AUD103 at the time. This was for a double room, and included a good breakfast. I thought it was good value for money.

"Ask for room not facing street. Could be noisy."
"Ask for a room with window facing the street. It is better than facing the courtyard as the street below is pretty quiet."
"For families its better to pay this price for a couple or single rooms are very expensive for the class of hotel"
"My room was not facing the street and it was still noisy."
"Try the bigger beds for couples or go with the two beds because the beds are small ( I mean , I am almost 6 ft or 1.85 M tall and me and my wife had some trouble getting comfortable in the bed."
