The Hotel is well located but unfortunately poor in equipment and too much old. It needs a serious re-looking. It is also very noisy and the staff is not hired to improve your comfort. The positive think is the activities to book via this hotel to spend less money on booking. But for me it is a transit hotel for... More

Booked this hotel for carnival, no wifi unless in lobby, beg bugs infestation in room, I woke up with hundreds of bug bites, absolutely discusting, gun shooting and cops outside or always in lobby, entrance to favela. However close to the beaches and subway

The hotel has a great location! But terrible service. We booked several weeks ahead and at our arrival after 15 min waiting with nobody else in the lobby they told us that they dont have rooms available sorry,,, what???? They offered to move us to other hotel way too far from Copacabana that we have to walk 1.5 mi to... More

I chose this hotel because of its location between Copacabana and Ipanama. But, although the location is good, this area does not look too safe at night (it is right below a favelas). The whole area back of Copacabana is a bit dreary. There are shops, supermarkets and a few fast-foods. As soon as you get into the reception, it... More

The only good point of this hotel is that it walks right up to the beach area via the Miramar Hotel Windsor along Rua Sa Ferreira, and I would say in about 5 minutes. The hotel is clean, but the area is not a safe area, right behind and up the hill is the favela. It has lots of ordinary people... More

As it's said in many reviews, the hotel itself is in bad condition and not maintained. Rooms are old and worn out, the cleaniness is questionable, room are not cleaned daily (or they come very late in the evening when people are already back at hotel), things like wifi or air con is working or not, depends on your luck.... This place is at the main entrance for the Pavão-Pavãozinho hill. The day we were there, there was policemen heavily armed with rifles and an armored car. The facilities are old and lacking maintenance, at some places you can feel a moldy smell! The staff is friendly. Breakfast is fair. Choose this place only as a last resort.

The worse hotel I never saw. Not well maintained. No internet avaible. It was announced they have it. We ask to fix it to access from our room. At first they lie saying they will fix it. Later they said the throuble was on our gadgets. I do not recommend this hotel to anybody.

Staying in Copacabana

Neighbourhood Profile
The rowdy Copacabana is one of the most traditional and old areas from Rio de Janeiro. This neighbourhood is a blend of Brazilian soul - crowded, rowdy and traditional. This neighbourhood has a bit of everything: bars with music, pubs, street fairs, chaotic streets, and many shops. All these things and more live side-by-side. There are options for all price points and tastes. However, the most powerful draw in Copacabana is still the fantastic view of the coast and the incredible beaches.

“- it would probably be better to choose a room on an upper floor”

“The in room wifi was said to be out of order, but if you wish to go for this hotel, make sure you check if there is functional wifi. Ask for upper rooms with larger space, but it is facing the street and you expect noise.”
