My wife (+ our little daughter) chose to stay there on the weekend of my birthday and make it worthy every invested penny. The Copacabana Palace is one of the grand hotels in Rio, with a fantastic location and storied history. We had a beautifully renovated room with high ceilings, and were particularly impressed with the dual wardrobe in the entry area; lots of storage area to unpack everything so you don't feel like you're living out of suitcases while on vacation. The...

The heritage of Cobacabana Palace is sensitive. You can fell the energy in the air, like in the 50's when Rio de Janeiro was a amazing and safe place to the very very rich of world. The staff is "London Five Stars Level", the restaurant is fabulous. Try a reservation on top floor, private and the price is the same.

After 30 years we stayed there again. We loved every minute, particularly the buffet breakfast with a fantastic choice of tropical fruit and the pool service. We stayed at the Annex, our room was spacious, well appointed with a large bathroom too.

We stayed again for just for one night at Copa, and we still love it! The Annex is not renovated yet, but they upgraded us to a very nice suite. When you arrive to the room, there are 2 packages of "Biscoito Globo" and a Mate...2 very traditional things for Cariocas. Beach and pool service were excellent and breakfast with...

Staying in Copacabana

Neighbourhood Profile
Copacabana
The rowdy Copacabana is one of the most traditional and old areas from Rio de Janeiro. This neighbourhood is a blend of Brazilian soul - crowded, rowdy and traditional. This neighbourhood has a bit of everything: bars with music, pubs, street fairs, chaotic streets, and many shops. All these things and more live side-by-side. There are options for all price points and tastes. However, the most powerful draw in Copacabana is still the fantastic view of the coast and the incredible beaches.
