Very old rooms, water leakage in the bathrooms, rooms not properly cleaned and mouldy, the Internet is very very slow, breakfast too basic, aircon doesn't work , no bottled drinking water, plastic curtains. Not sure if the hotel would qualify as three star. Didn't help that the agent had sold it as a 4 star hotel.

This hotel was a few minutes walk from both beaches. The hotel staff were excellent, the reception staff were especially helpful. The room to sleep 3 was perfect as there was the double room and a sofabed in the lounge area. The staff at breakfast were very attentive. The breakfast was varied and plentiful.

I have to say, they have the most amiable staff in all of my stay in Brazil, especially to Danelli. Pros: 1. Location. Very very good. Cons: 1. Internet is slow and almost useless. Doesn´t connect. 2. The rooms are very basic, might as well stay in a ibis. This is definitely not mercure level. 3. Breakfast - forget about...

This is a difficult hotel to review, as it has numerous shortcomings, but a great staff made up for some of them. First the GOOD: My room on the top floor was a large suite, with a kitchen, living room area with love seat sofa bed couch and a nice sized work desk, an average size, but very dated and...

Good location indeed. Right between copacabana and ipanema. Rooms are large enough and sleep quality good. But what a surprise when we went to have breakfast: R$ 42,00 per person. Surely too much. There is a good restaurant called "balada mix" just across the street which serves breakfast. Just go there for breakfast. Good quality breakfast for much less.

I'm a Copacabana connoisseur having frequently visited since my childhood. This hotel is at Posto 6 the edge of the beach opposite to Leme and close to Arpoador and Ipanema. There are many eating options nearby and is usually movemented during all hours. Mercure Arpoador was a good experience. They gave me a nice room, the view from the balcony...

Probably the worst Mercure we've stayed in, perhaps the worst of any Accor-branded hotel I've been to, except for Ibis Santos Dumont, also in Rio. Old building, broken air conditioner in our first room, and also in another room I've been to with the hotel staff before we could finally resettle in a good room at the 3th floor. Bad...

Staying in Copacabana

Neighbourhood Profile
Copacabana
The rowdy Copacabana is one of the most traditional and old areas from Rio de Janeiro. This neighbourhood is a blend of Brazilian soul - crowded, rowdy and traditional. This neighbourhood has a bit of everything: bars with music, pubs, street fairs, chaotic streets, and many shops. All these things and more live side-by-side. There are options for all price points and tastes. However, the most powerful draw in Copacabana is still the fantastic view of the coast and the incredible beaches.
