Central location between Copa & Ipanema. Metro is couple blocks away & taxi stand across the street. Nice size apartment with decent balcony view. Full amenities. Late night convenience store next door. Staff is excellent. My new favorite place in Rio!

I stayed at Mercure Arpoador with two other friends right after the Olympics. The staff is really friendly and helpful. The room we stayed in wasn't big but it was really comfortable for 3 people. Breakfast is amazing, with lots of options and everything taste good. The fresh tropical juices were the best. The only thing I didn't like was...

Our stay was impeccable. We loved it... we were celebrating our honeymoon and we were astonishingly well recepctioned. The room was great and location is spectacular… you can easily stroll either ways – Ipanema or Copacabana. About 10min walk from the fortress and another 10min walk distance to the metro. Perfect spot.

My room was a good size, functional one bedroom suite coupled with a kitchenette with appliances good enough for a longer stay. Yet some details were disappointing : It has a somewhat strange long , narrow shape. As for the furniture, my room had a dark sofa bed covered with a velvet-like fabric that was both anti-esthetic and anti-hygienic.Curtains were...

Very old rooms, water leakage in the bathrooms, rooms not properly cleaned and mouldy, the Internet is very very slow, breakfast too basic, aircon doesn't work , no bottled drinking water, plastic curtains. Not sure if the hotel would qualify as three star. Didn't help that the agent had sold it as a 4 star hotel.

This hotel was a few minutes walk from both beaches. The hotel staff were excellent, the reception staff were especially helpful. The room to sleep 3 was perfect as there was the double room and a sofabed in the lounge area. The staff at breakfast were very attentive. The breakfast was varied and plentiful.

I have to say, they have the most amiable staff in all of my stay in Brazil, especially to Danelli. Pros: 1. Location. Very very good. Cons: 1. Internet is slow and almost useless. Doesn´t connect. 2. The rooms are very basic, might as well stay in a ibis. This is definitely not mercure level. 3. Breakfast - forget about...

Staying in Copacabana

Neighbourhood Profile
Copacabana
The rowdy Copacabana is one of the most traditional and old areas from Rio de Janeiro. This neighbourhood is a blend of Brazilian soul - crowded, rowdy and traditional. This neighbourhood has a bit of everything: bars with music, pubs, street fairs, chaotic streets, and many shops. All these things and more live side-by-side. There are options for all price points and tastes. However, the most powerful draw in Copacabana is still the fantastic view of the coast and the incredible beaches.
