We stayed at Quinta Rosa for a couple of days. The area, Santa Teresa, is a charming little neighborhood. The metro station, Gloria, was easily accessible (when walking downhill), making it easy to get to Ipanema and Copacabana beaches. Elena and her husband and staff could not be more charming and helpful!! The breakfast brought to our rooms every morning...

My second trip to Rio, so I have some geography of the city. Quinta Rosa is a new development, apartments cleverly divided from an old mansion. St Teresa is an interesting area, serviced by tram from down town and the metro station is only a few minutes walk away. I asked the management to book a car to pick me...

Our stay at the Quinta Rosa, was amazing the colonial style building with its contemporary interior made a really comfortable week in Rio. The people were friendly and we made lots of new friends. The local area gives a great choice of meat grill's. The area is the most charming part of Rio we have stayed in, with beautiful views...

What can I say about one of the most wonderful experiences I have had? The place is gorgeous, and it offers high quality in the rooms. They all have a beautiful view of Rio with the Sugar Loaf and the bay, the old church of Gloria and romantic sunrises! The garden has fruit trees, mangos, avocados, guava and bananas and...

For our first trip to Rio, we booked a Santa Teresa hotel but on arrival, were not that happy with it. From a chance conversation in a local restaurant, we learned that newly restored colonial villa Quinta Rosa, had some Studio / Apartment-style accommodation available. Also located in Santa Teresa it turned out to be exactly what we had been...

Staying in Santa Teresa

Neighbourhood Profile
Santa Teresa
Santa Teresa is a bohemian enclave hosting many local artists’ studios. The narrow, winding streets of this neighbourhood were revitalised years ago, and visitors can now stroll through this area to view magnificent mansions dating back to the late 19th and early 20th century. A highlight not miss: Museu Chacará do Céu, a former mansion turned museum which houses works by prominent Brazilian modern artists.
