Lovely little B&B in a house in the hills of the Santa Teresa neighborhood. Caretakers are super nice and help with everything such as maps and tips for eating etc. Lovely breakfast with a few local fares, nice little garden with scenic view and birds. Soon rooms have shared bath with other rooms so make sure you check this while...

Flavia is the best! The hotel is in a good area where you can go outside for drinking staying safe! There is a good common area on the hotel, with some tables and Flavia bought a small swimming pool which was a very good idea!

Flavia and staff are great and very friendly and knowledgeable, and can make you feel welcome in Rio easily. Nice rooms, good view, good wifi and other facilities and great and extensive breakfast. Nicely situated between Santa Teteaa and Lapa. I even had the luck to get upgraded immediately.. Will come back here for sure.

Great location, lovely rooms, and a nice little garden with a stunning view over the city. The best about this B&B is, however, the wonderful staff helping you in any way to make the best out of your stay in Rio. Thank you a lot, Rafael and Laura!

I stayed in Casa da Gente for about a week and I had a good stay there. The place itself is very conveniently located, nicely decorated and it really feels like a home. Breakfast is very nice and the restrooms were clean. Perhaps best of all was the host, Laura, who was very hospitable and had a lot of good...

We stayed 3 nights at Casa da Gente. Room was perfect with great view and nice hamac. There was fresh filtered water brought in the room everyday and available in the kitchen (which we haven't gotten anywhere else around Rio). Location is great, right next to the famous stairs connecting Lapa/Santa Teresa. Hosts are awesome and take a lot of...

The staff (Laura and Rafael) are really cool and helpful. They give info and advice about the city of Rio de Janeiro: how to get around, what to see and most importantly what major party and event happens each day of your stay, how to get to the event, etc. Even cooler, they give you info about the State of...

Cosy atmosphere, beautiful view at the city centre, very friendly staff, good breakfast. The street of the hotel is quiet and simple but safe. Very close to the Selaron steps, which is full of tourists throughout the day. Lapa with its nice bars and clubs is only 5 minutes walk. Metro to the beach is 10 minutes walk. The staff...

The location might look dodgy but it is actually safe, right next to a famous landmark always filled with tourists. The place has a stunning view that you can enjoy during your delicious breakfast. It can be a bit noisy at times but that is the price to pay for being very centrally located, overviewing the whole pulsing city.

Staying in Santa Teresa

Neighbourhood Profile
Santa Teresa
Santa Teresa is a bohemian enclave hosting many local artists’ studios. The narrow, winding streets of this neighbourhood were revitalised years ago, and visitors can now stroll through this area to view magnificent mansions dating back to the late 19th and early 20th century. A highlight not miss: Museu Chacará do Céu, a former mansion turned museum which houses works by prominent Brazilian modern artists.
