I have stayed here on many occasions in the last few years and I must say I love the Hotel. I find the rooms to be very comfortable with ample hot water and good shower. The food in the new Bistro restaurant is sublime and probably rates a the best food i have eaten in Petropolis. Again, breakfast is superb with all fresh food daily. There is nothing not to like. Thanks again and see you soon.

The hotel is just a few minutes walk to the Imperial Museum and walking distance to the Cathedral. It is centrally located to the historic center of the city, convenient to restaurants, sights, and shopping. The rooms are located in a few different buildings. There is the building with the reception, next door is the building with the breakfast rooms, 1st and 2nd floor. To the rear is a building of just rooms. My room was on the 2nd floor at the end of the hall, not much of a view but quiet. The room was a decent size, not large but comfortable with a frigobar and large closet. The bathroom was a good size with a walk-in shower. Breakfast is included, sufficient, and tasty with offerings of scrambled eggs, meat, a variety of breads and pastries, and fruit. The lower breakfast room is a bit darker and crypt-like. The one on the second floor is airy and more comfortable. Either is sufficient to the task of eating a good breakfast. Dinner is offered but is delivered to the room. The staff was welcoming and helpful.

The location is absolutely perfect! Situated right next to the Imperial Museum, walking distance from the Cathedral and the Rua Teresa, a major shopping street. That was our main reason for choosing the hotel. It looks like an old colonial style house which has its charms. Our room was basic and all we needed to spend a night. Awesome shower btw! Really adored that! Breakfast included, and good decent variety available. Private parking. Air conditioning/ heater. There's a few things that are not necessarily negative, but that I think could be improved. 1) when we came back to the hotel by car, it was around 22:30, the gate to the driveway was closed. We were a little unsure what to do and there was no bell to ring to reception. Decided to honk a little then. Or were we supposed to walk up to reception? In the end we should have just tried to push the gate cause it wasn't locked. But the night manager (I guess) came out already, looking quite moody and quite rude telling us that this drive way was in fact the EXIT. Well we're sorry, but we used this driveway when we arrived and no one told us that, also there is NO sign on the gate or anywhere that said "Saída" (exit). Apparently the entrance was the serpentine path that we thought was just a wide pedestrian path. Also, no signs. So perhaps to avoid confusion, place some signs? 2) This is a personal opinion, but I think it should be quite standard for every hotel. That every room should have a printed paper on the desk/bedside table with basic info on it: breakfast times, restaurant times + menu if the hotel has a restaurant, how to call reception from the phone, the latest WiFi password, what the extra charge is to consume something from the fridge. Stuff like that. Not that we ever consume anything from the minibar, but it's fair to inform. 3) what personally always bothers me is that most hotels never seem to have glasses or cups in the bathroom. Am I supposed to leave my toothbrush laying down on the sink? I've learned already to always travel with plastic throw away cups. But I'd definitely come back to this hotel! Despite the very large spider that was on the ceiling right above our door ;)

The hotel is well situated in the center of the city. The first building in the front is beautiful but you will probably sleep behind, in a normal building. The breakfast was good but nothing special. The restaurant is not very good. Probably not the best place to stay in petropolis.

gostariade saber se é proximo a rodoviária
Não, não é próximo à rodoviária. Terá de pegar um ônibus ou táxi na rodoviária de Petrópolis que fica fora da área urbana. Coisa de 10/15minutos de carro.
