Some friends and I stayed in Pousada D'Pillel for 3 nights and we were all sure it was a great call. The staff was very friendly and ready to help, giving valuable hints on how to explore the island. The rooms are also very cozy and charming. The fact that everyday there is cake, coffee and tea in the late...

Myself and my girlfriend stayed here for four days and could easily have stayed longer. The staff were very kind and helpful and the owner was always on hand to dispense advice on hiking and the best beaches to visit. The pousada was very clean and comfortable with lovely cosy rooms with hammock in each for chilling. The delicious breakfast...

The garden was like a little oasis of calm with a hammock and seats under a partial tropical style roof. The rooms were clean and comfortable and it was 5 mins from the centre. It would have been good to have wifi in the rooms instead of just reception area. Although you don't go to Ilha Grande for the connectivity....

Ilha grande is an amazing island, so we were very happy when we arrived at the guesthouse. The room was clean and modern and had a great balcony over looking the jungle behind. The owner was very helpful and the staff very polite.

After staying on a camping in Palmas on Ilha Grande we decided to get some luxury and stay in a hotel in Vila de Abraao. There were rooms only in this hotel because of all the Cariocas from Rio going on Ilha Grande for weekend. In the beginning we got quite smelly room but after a day it was changed...

Hotel was perfectly located beside the beach and restaurants. The owner and all the staff were extremely friendly and always offering advice on different activities on the island. My girlfriend was sick and the owner took us to the doctor and translated for us. The rooms were nice with private balcony and hammock and the breakfast was very good.

Ilha Grande is only a little place, at least where most people stay in the port. This B&B (Pousada) had a really friendly feel to it, and all the staff were really helpful, especially Roger and Sandra. It can be a little noisy in the mornings, but for a few nights it was great. You get a free snorkel and...

It was an overall great experience, the owner is a sweet old woman who greeted us with biscuits on arrival. The backyard breakfast area opened up to the forest, we even had monkeys visit! They were harmless and not very intrusive, definitely adds to the experience of visiting an island off the grid. Rooms were clean and well tended to,...

“Rooms in the basement are closest to the breakfast/backyard area, depending on the other travelers it may get a bit loud when breakfast is served but it also means you'll be first to know when it's ready. Rooms on the fist and second floors have a little balcony (overlooking the backyard) and a hammock.”
