I had 5 days here last week and it was absolutely awesome. Although the staff didn't speak very good English, they would go out of their way to help me and were extra friendly. Breakfast was amazing, huge variety and the pool and pool area is great. The location is perfect, as are the views. Couldn't speak more highly of...

Amazing boutique hotel with a very homey feeling. The music background is excellent from calm slow soft bossanova to more lounge for afternoon swimming pool, you bump into a few celebrities (fashion world) like it's natural. The living room area is lovely as well as the outside and inside bars. I just love this place. The rooms are perfect for...

It is a quirky place. It is in need of a refit throughout. The seaview suites with balconies are rather dark. So is much of the interior. The service is friendly and flexible but not very efficient. The owner is there some of the time. Does not really interact with the guests. The large reception room nicely laid out with...

Got lucky finding this place without prior reservations. Boutique hotel with 19 rooms. Ours was on 2nd floor (top) with a balcony overlooking the terrace pool and the ocean. Very clean and quiet with very friendly staff, Teado being our favorite. Breakfast was included in our $200/nt. rate. (A "garden view room" is $40 less.) Besides the buffet they will...

Our stay at El Cazar was great! Centrally located, just steps from Orla Bardot and many restaurants and shops! Walking distance to a few nearby beaches. Our room had a peaceful balcony overlooking the pool and the ocean. Amazing views! The bed was super comfortable. The room was truned everyday. The service was outstanding. The wifi was awesome in the...

Recently stayed in this hotel and nothing to find fault. The staff were always helpful in the extreme, nothing was too much for them. We arrived without booking and were shown two different rooms one over looking the pool and the other looking out to sea. We chose the sea view room and what a good choice it was. Roomy...

The room was nice, clean and spacious. Location is great with parking and easy walk to the main center. The pool was small but had a really amazing view of the ocean (great for sunsets). The food and breakfast was very poor (especially for the price of the room). Service was good from everyone except the reception...never there when you...

Yes, it may be quite pricey, but absolutely loved it there! In fact, we booked an additional week after being there two nights! The beds are hard, but the service, breakfasts and views from your own private deck are absolutely amazing! This little sea-side town is a must do and if you are looking for a romantic place to stay,...

We paid over USD 1,000.00 for a two-night stay. This per-night cost was three times more expensive than we paid for a great suit in a super-nice hotel in Ferradura beach (also in Buzios), where we stayed for 5 nights. So why did we leave our hotel in Ferradura beach to go to El Cazar? We had originally planned to...

“We selected one of the large suites on the lower floor at the far right end. I believe it is the best there. Just a warning, the pool deck is over your head and do not have your laptop outside in the am, as they wash down the deck and water comes down between the floor boards for the deck. This usually does not happen until about 9:00am though. Not too early, but the room is well worth the small inconvenience...”
