This hotel was an experience of a lifetime . With a setting that placed you on the misty doorstep of Iguaçu Falls and inside the park we had front row seats to one of the best natural wonders to be found. The service was outstanding , the meals creative and fresh, and the design

This lovely old Portuguese colonial hotel is situated within the Brazilian Iguacu National Park and overlooks the breathtaking Iguacu Falls. All aspects of the hotel, its service, food and attentive staff are without peer, and it has the huge advantage of being inside the Park,

Where do I start?! Loved it so much!

Spent one amazing night at the Belmond - they arranged a once in a lifetime 24 hours for us!

We were picked up on the Argentine side and did two walks on day one with a private guide. Walks were breathtaking. We were then taken to the hotel.

Forbes Magazine 5 star rated there is no doubt about it but at a price not for the faint of wallet. Service beyond impeccable. Excellent free wi-fi, stocked non-alcoholic mini-bar (only charged if you need a refill but at $600 + a night that should be standard). Smoked salmon on

Which airport if I fly form Buenos Aires
The Argentina’n airport at the Falls is undergoing major refurbishment so both countries are sharing same airport, so book for Brazilian airport at the falls however it has an Argentinan sector so you in effect stay in Argentina

I understand guests have early/late access. Once it is light are there restrictions on where one can go, or are all observation decks/bridges/walkways available? For how long do guests have the area to themselves - an hour before park opens, and after it closes? or longer?
Hey we were advised by the hotel staff not to venture out in the evening - a jaguar was spotted ( no pun intended ) one earlier evening by the staff. Some small animals are not too friendly so best to venture before the park opens .

I'm planning to stay here by myself and my primary goal is photography of the Falls. The best time to photograph is very early morning and late afternoon. What time does daylight typically begin there (in late October) and what time does it end? I'm assuming I will be able to beat the hordes of tourists to photograph very early morning and late afternoon correct?
Hi , well we stayed there for a couple of nights just about a week ago and on our second morning we wandered down to the falls about 8 a.m. and it was brilliant as there was only one other couple on the path. Definitely the thing to do. Sun was shining and so peaceful. The day before we went later in the day and , yes there were a lot more people. We also took the bus around to the Argentinian side of the falls to see the Devils Throat which, yes is magnificent, but for us the boards of people and I mean hoards, just made it not worth while.
